12. The production cost of a craft with volume V cm3 is $C. C is a sum of two parts, one part varies
directly as V and the other part varies directly as the square of V.
When V = 50, C = 65; when V = 75, C = 135.
(a) Find the production cost of a craft with volume 120 cm3. (4 marks)
(b) Given that the selling price is 3 times the volume of the craft.
(i) Express the profit of selling a craft in terms of V.
(ii) Kitty claims that a profit of $100 can be made when selling a craft. Do you agree?

17. In Figure 6, TA is a vertical pole and A, B, C and D are points on the same horizontal ground, where
D is a point on AC. The angles of elevation of T from B, C and D are 60 , 30 and 45
respectively. It is given that BC = 36 m and CD = 12 m.
