The department for Culture, Media and Sports defines the creative industries as “those activities which
have their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent and which have a potential for wealth and job
creation through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property”. In simplified terms, this means
that the creative industries are a market which utilize things like creativity and artistic as human labor to
create profit, employment and economic growth.
FASHION DESIGNING
Fashion designing is a form of art dedicated to the creation of clothing and other lifestyle accessories.
Modern fashion design is divided into two basic categories: haute couture and ready-to-wear. A fashion
designer creates clothing, including dresses, suits, pants and skirts and accessories like shoes and
handbags for consumers.
Graphic designing
Graphic design is a craft where professionals create visual content to communicate messages. By
applying visual hierarchy use typography and pictures to meet users’ specific needs and focus on the logic
of displaying elements in interactive designs to optimize the user experience.
Fashion illustrator
Fashion illustrators concentrate on art and making fashion styles for customers. It is a way of expressing
their ideas and objectives either by drawing or sketching. The duty of fashion illustrators is to create
sketches, drawings and other works of art related to the fashion industry.
Technical designing
A technical designer works in the fashion industry to help take a garment from concept to shelf. The job
of technical designers is to take creative designs and adapt these ideas into actual products. Generally, the
phrase ‘technical design ‘refers to project activities that take place after the detailed design has been
completed but before the construction contract is tendered or constructions begin.
Market researcher
Market research analysts gather and analyze data on consumers and competitors. Market research analysts
study market conditions to examine potential sales of a product or a service. Market research is an
organized effort to gather information about target markets and consumers.
Pattern maker
Pattern makers are skilled technicians who create templated that are used to mass-produce products such
as clothing, shoes, furniture or plasticware. Their job is to translate blueprints and design models into
factory patterns using drafting software or freehand measurement techniques.
