Introduction
Imtiaz Super Market is a project that was started by Mr. Hakim Khan Abbasi in 1955. At the
beginning he used the idea of making a small grocery store that would provide all the items of
daily use to its customers. With the time his business keeps on growing, Mr. Imtiaz Hussain has
a vision of making Imtiaz Super Store, a store that would make the life of people easier by
providing all the utilities at a single place. He also had a vision of serving the people by helping
to save money in their shopping, in short he want to gain the customers with love. However, it
was also said that if the owners of the store could not manage to come up with their specific
parking space, then action would be taken to seal the store. According to the orders issued,
residents living in the area near the store have been suffering since the launch of the self-
proclaimed biggest supermarket of Pakistan. It has been learnt that Chase Departmental Store
and Imtiaz Super Market are the main reason of illegal parking on streets leading to heavy traffic
jams on busiest roads of the city, making the commuters’ life difficult. During the peak hours,
traffic jams are witnessed particularly in front of Imtiaz Super Market’s Nazimabad branch,
Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Chase Departmental Store’s Khalid Bin Waleed Road branch and KDA,
North Nazimabad.
History
Imtiaz Super Market started in 1955 as a small superstore in Bahadurabad, Karachi by Imtiaz
Abbasi. In 2003, they opened a store in Awami Markaz, Karachi. In 2010, they expanded by
opening a store in Nazimabad, Karachi. In 2013, Imtiaz was opened in Defence, Karachi. In
2016, hypermarket was opened in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. The retailer also expanded
to Punjab, Pakistan, opened supermarket in Gujranwala. In 2017, a branch was opened
in Faisalabad. In 2018, two more branches were opened in Karachi in the areas of Sharafabad,
and Malir by the retailer. In 2019, a Clifton, Karachi branch was opened. In 2021, they opened a
store in Sialkot.
Currently this Super market is operating certain stores, ware houses, packaging unit and a
network that is controlled from Head office, which is located at Karachi, Pakistan. It is growing
and making its place in the retail sector of Pakistan and is planning to inaugurate new biggest
Super Market.
In past years, Imtiaz Super Market has grown rapidly by their strategy of opening new stores at
different locations. The sales of this super market has played its major role in driving up this
strategy, but there is a burden at the company’s warehouse and the reason behind it is the
controlled and limited data for decision making, and deprived inventory visibility. As an
expanding business they are required to build a modern IT system that will manage and keep
record of their warehousing and retail operations and making plan for their future growth from
the data. As they perform their work manually and then feed the data into computer so this can
cause a key concern in transaction and changes to inventory. Another problem in operating this
business is that such a business face is in reporting of legacy system. In order to offer its
customers an efficient and effective service company should make use and take benefits from
latest retail technology. For this purpose Imtiaz Super Market is required to implement solution
that would provide control on stores and inventory.
Advertistment
No doubt Imtiaz Super Market is progressing really fast and growing every day but there is no
advertisement of their products so if the market is progressing so rapidly without advertisement
then it can progress and increase their sales more efficiently if they use advertisements.
Marketing a brand or a product is easy these days since there are so many channels to get a start
with. Imtiaz Super Market a well-known brand doesn’t need any introduction since it is the
biggest retail chain of supermarkets also being the pioneer in Pakistan. As a supermarket, we
have recently activated ourselves on all the social media channels/platforms to let the people and
audience know more about what’s going on at our branches, latest updates, and upcoming
events. We are launching a new themed magazine each week that has the latest discounted
promotions. Also, a lot more options and features are constantly being offered for the customers.

While visiting the section of herbs and dry fruits you will encounter a section of crockery too.

you will see stairs, and another section offering more categories to witness.
I was surprised to see how much this branch has grown. Amazing jewelry section, purses, key
chains, and apparel section and much more awaiting there to serve and entertain its customers in
such an astounding price.

potential of customers buying power to improve their quality of life.
Manufacturing
Imtiaz, a venture of Mr. Hakim Khan Abbasi began operations in the year 1955. His primeval
idea was to kick off a small store which could provide general items of daily use to their
customers. Over the years as business grew, Mr. Imtiaz Hussain envisioned of making Imtiaz
Super Store, a store which would help make peoples life better. He had a vision to serve people
by helping them save money in their day today shopping; a vision to strive and conquer their
customer’s with love.
Currently the Supermarket has three Stores, five warehouses and a packaging unit and this
elaborate network is controlled from the Head office located at Karachi, Pakistan. Keeping pace
with growth in Retail Sector in Pakistan, company is about to inaugurate a new Supermarket that

Imtiaz super market was never digitally involved, not until 2018. Imtiaz super market is
engaging and updating itself with the latest trends and technology because why not. Everyone
has an image of Imtiaz super market, as a super market a place where you will find a lot of
different products, every category under one roof with air-conditioning and chill atmosphere.

FUNCTIONS UNDER COVID
COVID has become a global pandemic as a fatal disease. Soon after the very first case was
reported, innumerable precautions have been circulated as public service messages by the
Government across Pakistan. Following numerous death reports, a Countrywide lockdown was
announced urging people to stay indoors to protect themselves from getting infected.
However, everyday grocery is a part of any commoner’s livelihood that cannot be avoided. This
aspect was deeply considered and hence led the government to exempt many businesses
including retail stores from the lockdown. This news was a relief but also made people anxious if
they were safe enough to do grocery outdoors.
To overcome public concerns related to the safety of health, Imtiaz Super Market pledged to
serve as a responsible retailer providing a safe environment for its customers to shop within
stores. Imtiaz Super Market, identified to be a domicile retail store has been operating as per its
standard routine amidst Corona.
