Course Outcomes : At the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. Apply the basic statistical concepts and tools in science. (C3)
2. Demonstrate the use of basic statistical knowledge and skills in science.
(A3)
3. Determine an appropriate statistical skills in solving probability and
statistics problems. (C5)

Course Description : This is an introductory course in Statistics and Probability, and it is aimed at
students without any prior expose to the course matter. The course is divided
into five parts: introduction to statistics, descriptive statistics, correlation and
regression, introduction to probability and probability distributions.
Applications to more general everyday problems towards science and
technology will be included in the course in order to provide a broader
spectrum to the students and at the same time, develop their interest in the
course. Students will also be able to interpret the computer output from the
statistical software.
