NARRATIVE REPORT

CAREER EXPO 2021


Via Google Meet and Facebook Live

RATIONALE
Pursuant on the Department of Education’s Career Guidance Program
which aims to strengthening students to pursue their career, emphasizing that
choosing career is not being influence but it is a result of decision. It provides avenue
for clear visions in terms of decision making in their life when they encounter
different obstacles that may hinder their way in achieving their goals. It also aims of
motivating students to pursue their dreams in life no matter what happen. This
program, Career Guidance Program will promote awareness in the importance of
choosing a career that suits their skills and interests that matches the available
resources and needs of the society.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ACTIVITY:


1. To make informed decision regarding career choices
2. To discuss industries and possible career choices such as acquiring mid-level
skills employment, pursuing higher education, and establishing business.
3. To gain inspiration and ideas from testimonies of various professionals.

PARTICIPANTS:
1. School Heads and Faculty Members
2. Senior High School Parents
3. Senior High School Students
4. Resource Speakers
5. Guest sharer to inspire each strand

ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN:
The preparation for career orientation began in determining what will
be the focus and objectives of the said program. Following the theme “Aligning
Values in Adhering New Skills Thru Enlightening the Mind of Extraordinary People
through Career Orientation”, it is apparent to lead the students in making informed
decision about pursuing their career goals.

The Career Expo formally started at 8:00 am last May 28, 2021 via
Google meet and which was also streaming live on various Facebook pages
affiliated with the school to reach maximum number of audiences. It started with the
prayer followed by singing of the national anthem thru Audio Visual Presentation. It
was followed by the welcome remarks and inspirational messages of Ma’am Mariel
G. Hungoy, Principal II of Itlugan National High School. Mr. Antonio M. Ilagan, Public
Schools District Supervisor of Rosario West District also delivered his message to
the students. A video presentation of the message coming from Dr. Maria Leticia
Jose C. Basilan was viewed after. It was followed by the presentation of the
participants by the program moderator, Mr. Christian Jay D. Salazar, Grade 11 Level
Coordinator.
The highlight of the program was the Orientation/Career Talk to the
grade 10 to 12 students. Competent speakers from different line agencies were
invited to grace the said program. Ms. Pamela Ann Poso, the Strategic
Communication Assistant of Lyceum of the Philippine University-Batangas shares
and orient the students to the different strands and courses that their institution
offers, Mr. Argie P. Dacera, the Schools Career Adviser and Marketing Head of STI-
Lipa, Mrs. Lyan L. Velasco, Certified Public Accountant from Sun Life of Canada
Phil. Inc. shares her experiences and inspire the ABM students and aspiring
accountants, Mrs. Edna H. Austria, Administrative Assistant II of Itlugan National
High School motivated our students and told them to be hardworking and patient to
achieve their golas, Engr. Melisa Bobis, a licensed engineer inspired our STEM
students through her story of experiences and success in her studies and line of
work and Mr. Gerald Asilo a successful business owner who give advises and
motivated our students, that despite of rejections and trial and error, they will be
successful with patient and hardwork. These speakers graced the affair and
motivated our learners in making the right decision for their careers in the future.
They did not only inspired students but also shared new learning about their
experiences. The speakers also gave their advice to students to study hard and
reach for their dreams. Certificates where presented after each speaker which was
read by the program moderator.
The program ended around 12:00 pm thru closing remarks by Mrs.
Girene D. Solpico, Master Teacher I and SHS Focal Person followed by a closing
prayer led by Ms. Abegail M. Capistrano, Guidance Teacher-JHS.

RECOMMENDATION/S:

Itlugan National High School will provide an extensive career guidance program
starting from Junior High School next school year.
