INSTALLATION

Installation
Section 2 of this manual provides instructions for installing the hardware for the Fusion Gateway, the 4-Port
router and 24 Port switch for the LAN shown in the example Figure 1. These devices will already be configured
with a generic setup that can be used for many site configurations. Section 3 includes configuration of the 4-
Port router for the site's specific configuration. Section 4 focuses on configuring the software on the Fusion
Gateway.
Note:
1. The Fusion Gateway has a LAN (local) IP address for communication with the iX CATs in the dispensers.
The local IP is the 192.168.1.51 default unless otherwise directed by customer.
2. The ASO should contact the customer IT representative or site management in order to determine:
a. If the Dresser Wayne 4-Port router needs to be set to a specific static IP address, default gateway,
static DNS entries, host or domain names.
b. If there is a specific range of IP addresses for the local network.

____ 1. Install the Fusion Gateway into the appropriate rack or shelf, or wall mount using the mounting brackets
supplied.
____ 2. Plug one end of an Ethernet (CAT5) cable into the site's existing DSL router, broadband modem, or WAN
router, then plug the other end of the cable into the Internet port on the Wayne Linksys Router BEFSR41.
____ 3. Plug one end of an Ethernet (CAT5) cable into Port 24 on the Wayne Linksys Switch SRW224G4 then plug
the other end of the cable into Port 1 of the Wayne Linksys Router BEFSR41.
____ 4. Plug one end of an Ethernet (CAT 5) cable into Port 23 on the Wayne Linksys Switch SRW224G4, then
plug the other end of the cable into the Ethernet Port of the Fusion Gateway.
____ 5. Plug in the Ethernet cables from all the CATs outside into the Wayne Linksys Switch SRW224G4. The
cables should be plugged into ports 1 through the total number of dispensers you have.
Example: CATs 1/2 should go to port 1, CATs 3/4 should go to port 2, etc.
____ 6. Plug your Laptop into Port 22 of the Wayne Linksys Switch SRW224G4.
____ 7. Attach the power cords to the Fusion Gateway, the router and the switch and connect all to available power
sources.
NOTE: The 192.168.1.52 address that you are assigning to your laptop is one address higher than the Fusion
Gateway. If you need to use another address other than 192.168.1.52 you are free to do so, as long as the
address you select will not interfere with any other devices on the network.
____ 2. On the laptop, open Internet Explorer by Start > Run > iexplore and press <Enter>, or by double clicking

Green Check
(Online)
Red X
(Offline)
NOTE: Online means that the iX CAT is communicating with the iSense software on the Fusion Gateway. See Note below if
a red box is displayed around the pump picture.
A red X or red box indicates the fueling point iX CAT is not communicating with iSense on the
Fusion Gateway. In this case, the most likely problem is an incorrect IP address at the iX CAT. Open a command
prompt window (select Start/Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt) and type ping (leave a space) and type the
IP address of the iX CAT and then press Enter.
If ping times out (not successful), check the fueling point IP address in the DMSystemConfigure.xml file at the iX
CAT.
If ping is successful, the Gateway’s IP address may not be correct in the RDMCommConfig.xml file at the iX CAT.
Also, check Ethernet cables and connections and check if there is a green light on the Ethernet switch inside the
building. If the green light is not on, there is no connectivity. Be sure there is power to the switch in the dispenser.
Do not proceed until all CATs are online.
An example of a ping command is shown in Figure 14.
____ 17. On your laptop, close the Remote Desktop Connection by clicking the “x” in the small menu bar at the top of the
screen.
