Resendez; the most recent schools I have attended are Palmview High
School, STC, and UTRGV. I am a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success;
the organization has allowed me to participate in goal setting, accountability, and commitment to
action with peers. I currently work for the Health and Human Services Commission; I am a part
of the Eligibility Support department. My job is to help fellow Texans to amplify and preserve
the well-being by providing effective Health and Human Services and encouraging advances in
health coverage. I’m currently in the process of starting a second job; I was hired as a Bank of
America Customer Care Representative. I also have a small business, and I do school full time.
On my off time, I enjoy working out and playing with my dog, Arix.
2. The process of learning to manage these tensions contributes to the formation of new
identities, for as people progress through their major discipline(s), writing increasingly complex
texts in the process, they are also writing themselves into the discipline(s) (see 2.3, “Writing Is a
Way of Enacting Disciplinarity”). That process of identity formation is interwoven with learning
the writing conventions, practices, habits, and approaches of their discipline.
3. Some goals I have for this semester is to further educate myself on writing an essay. When I
leave this class, I want to sound more professional in my writing. I'm delighted to meet new
people and cooperate with everyone while being informed. Because I am a math major, I am
hoping that this class will teach me to appreciate English more.
