CELTA Online Unit 11 Task 12: Design a Lesson

1. Look at the tapescript from Total English Intermediate (Clare, A., Wilson, J. (2006) Total English
Intermediate. Longman) Unit 7, Recording 1, Speakers 1-5 below, which describes a range of
different learning experiences.
2. You are going to design a basic listening lesson for this material. Read the tapescript carefully and
think of activities to do in class to achieve the aims below. Write your ideas in the notepads
provided.
3. Post your ideas from your notepad to this Discussion Forum.
4. Choose one of your colleagues’ lessons that you thought was effective and post a comment
explaining how easy or difficult the tasks were and why you liked their lesson.
