If a person scuffs their feet across a rug, scraping electrons, they will develop a negative static charge. Like charges repel each other, so two positively charged objects or two negatively charged objects will push away from each other. Static charge can be produced through friction, conduction, or induction. The force of attraction or repulsion between two charged spheres is directly proportional to the inverse of the square of the distance between them. Doubling the distance will reduce the force to one-fourth of its original value, while halving the distance will increase the force four times. Electric fields can be both attractive and repulsive, unlike gravitational fields which are always attractive, and electric fields are generally stronger than gravitational fields.

1.What will be your charge if you scrape electrons from your feet while scuffing
across the rug?

My charge if I scraped electrons from my feet while scuffing across the rug the charge will be
Negative static charge.

2.How do particles with the same charge react?

Comparison to the attractive force that exists between two objects with opposite charges,
two objects with the same charger pelone another. That Is,a positively charged object repels
another positively charged object.Like-charged objects repel each other.

3.What are the three ways in which static charge is produced?

Friction-Electrons are transferred from one object to another as surfaces rub together.
Conduction-The movement of electrons between objects is free.
Induction-Entails the placement of electric charges alongside a physical form.

4.If you were to graph the relation Fcx1/R^2,what kind of graph would you get?
If I were to graph its relation the kind of graph that would get is a straight line.

5.How will the force F change if the distance R between the two charged spheres is
doubled?
How about if reduced to one-half? The force is proportional to the square of the distance
between the two charges. As a result, doubling the distance between the two charges
reduced the attraction or repulsion to one-fourth of its original value.

6.Give the similarities and differences between electric fields and gravitational fields.
The electric force acts incharge, while the gravitational force acts on mass. Electric Fields
can be both attractive and repellent, whereas gravitational force is just attractive. The
gravitational field is much weaker than the electric field.
7.Illustrate the direction of the lines of force between a positive and a negative charge.

8.Illustrate the direction of the lines of force between two positive charges.
9.Two pieces of cereal become equally charged as they are poured out of the box to
the bowl. If the force between cereals 2x10^-3N when the pieces are 0.05m apart, what

is the charge on each of the pieces?
