Admiraty Vector Charts Service (AVCS)


Receiving New ENC Permit

1. Once order submitted, the AVCS agent will send 2 Email as shown above.

2. First Email → ADSReply000.zip → includes the ENC Permit / Schedule A

3. Second Email → ADSReply000.ads → to be used in e­Navigator.
A)First Attachment - ADSReply000.zip

1. Save the attachment (.zip) to desired Drive / Desktop and extract the file.

2. Copy the ‘permits’ folder to Removable Disk & Print the Schedule A.

3. Insert the Removable Drive to Nav Work Station and Copy again the ‘permits’ file inside the Network
drive (for example) for easy data acquiring between all ECDIS.
4. Open Chart Portfolio.

5. Tool → click Option 6. Select ‘S-63’ tab , notice that there are 19 charts
license at this moment.
Then click on ‘Import Cell Permit…’

7. Browse the ‘permits’ folder that has been save earlier and select the ‘BACKUP’ , MASTER , OR
RESERVE folder.

For Seri Angkasa the PERMITS used by each ECDIS as follows;


- BACKUP permit for Sub Ecdis (Port Side)
- MASTER permit for Main Ecdis (Stbd Side)
- RESERVE permit for Nav Work Station (Aft )
Then select the PERMIT.TXT and click OK.
8. ‘Completed’ window will pops out. Click OK. 9. Notice that the charts license increased from 19
to 55 for this example.

10. Now we have the Permits for the new ENC.

Next is to load the ENC data from Base CD that supplied earlier.

***Important - ALWAYS check the Source Chart Path for Auto Detect utilities in ChartPortfolio before
any installation or updates carried out inside the ECDIS.

This can be carried out by selecting Advanced tab - clicks on the Advance Option..
Then on the S-57/S63(Offline) , Browse for the Media or File Location for the installation or updates to be
carried out.
11. Insert the Base DVD.

12. Sort → select S-63(Offline), then click Auto 13. All new ENC ready to be loaded inside the
Detect. ECDIS. Clicks on the Import/Update button.
This will detect the ENC permits installed earlier.

14. ‘Update of all charts in CD ROM are accepted’ → click OK
The progress bar will be shown as the Importing & Copying activity carried out.

Once Completed exit ChartPortfolio.


The new ENCs ready to be used.
B)Second Attachment - ADSReply000.ads

1. Open the e-Navigator Planning Station.

2.Click on Main Holdings and ensure the ‘AVCS Products’ is selected.

3. Now you can view all the


ENC’s that being subscribed
by your vessel in this
Maintain Holdings
4. Tools → Select ‘Apply update’ to bring in the new ENCs data / information to the e-Navigation Planning Station.
Then browse the ADSReply000.ads that just received.
Clicks ‘Open’

5. Update Status window will give you the details regarding the updates. Then Close the window.
Ensure to select the ‘AVCS Product’ once again to view your New Updated Maintain Holdings.

6 Check your Schedule A and ensure that the ENCs ordered is updated into the E-Navigator Planning as
well .
7.. Now we need to update the ‘Update status’ for our ECDIS (which the Permit and ENC was installed at earlier
stage) and the ‘e-Navigator Status’ (at which the E-Nav will load the new ENCs data from the Base DVD.)

8. Insert the Base DVD. 9. Clicks on ‘Sync holdings’

10. Select the ‘Update your


ECDIS status AND load

Clicks ‘Next’
11. Select the UKHO Media. Then clicks ‘Next’.

12. By default, the AVCS media is 13. The AVCS Installation windows pops out.

Clicks ‘Next’.
15. Installation in progress…… After completion clicks ‘Finish’.

16. The Update Status, e-Navigator Status, Eddition onboard, Week will be updated as shown above.
17. Now the new ENCs can be viewed in the e-Navigator Planning.

18. It is very IMPORTANT to request the LATEST ECDIS updates after receiving / applying new
ENCs .
This can be easily notified by the in the ‘Action summary’ column as shown above.
