LESSON 2

Excite
Critical Questions: Reflect and write your answer to the following
questions:
1. What are the professional characteristics of an ideal teacher?
- First and foremost, being flexible means that if students are not
interested in learning a new or even a new good lesson due to some
reasons, then he is not recalcitrant regarding straightway teaching of
the lesson. Rather he talks about problems that have arisen in the
classroom and eventually gets back to the lesson. An ideal teacher is
concise and clear in both oral and written expression in the
classroom. An ideal teacher is patient. Being patient is often
expressed as being diligent or persevering. The ability to develop
relationships with their students. Patient, caring, and kind
personality.

2. What talents and skills do you have that can be shared or used
when you become a full-fledged teacher?
- Teaching can be a very rewarding career choice. You having specific
skills and talents will help you succeed in the classroom. There is
never enough time in the day to complete what needs to be. The
nation is moving towards stricter standards and benchmarks, and
testing has become a huge issue. Patience Teaching Skills. One of the
most important qualities a teacher can have is patience. Creativity.
Successful teachers are creative in many ways. Communication and
Collaboration. Likeable Personality. Self-Discipline. Empathy.
Empathy is an important quality for teachers. Drive for self=
improvement. A great teacher should be able to look at themselves
objectively and see where they can improve. And be adaptable.
3. Think of a teacher whom you consider to be talented and skillful in
his or her teaching. How his or her talents do benefit his or her
teaching?
- In my opinion, he or she can benefit some good result of the grades
of his/her students because some of the students understands the
lesson that she/he discuss so they can absorb the lesson. Because I
experience that I have a teacher in math that have a long patient and
he is so creative and determined to teach us some formulas so he
did his great work that cause for me and to my fellow classmate to
have good grade in his subject. Thanks to Sir Dan Dumalagan.

Critical Questions: Reflect and write your answer to the following
questions:
1. What other needs of teachers can you identify?
- Educators have consistently indicated that they need:
Supportive school leadership, engaged community and parents,
A safe environment, Sufficient facilities, enough time to plan
and collaborate, High-quality professional development, An
atmosphere of trust and respect, Effective school improvement
teams.

2. As future teachers, what do you think is the best way that the
government can do to meet the needs of the teachers?
- Some teachers need support from the government and their family
because their profession is not to easy and their works are so very
hard, so they can focus without thinking of any difficulties inside
their home and workplace.

3. Do you believe that teachers are unfairly treated compared to other

professions? Why?
- For me YES, because some teachers sacrifice their lives to teach
some kids in other parts of country, when I watch a
documentary about teachers crossing the deadly river because
of the stronger waves, and their goal is to teach the children in
the remote area in our country (Philippines), while having small
amount of salary.
