Introduction
Most people claim to care for the environment, but what people care for and the motives for
their concern are vastly different. People see the environment as a "common" that is open to
anyone being overused and deteriorated. For immediate personal gain, individuals continue to
manipulate the environment, ignoring the long-term consequences of their behavior.
Sustaining the environment helps prevent global warming and climate change. One example
of the sustainability of the environment is simply cleaning. Environmental cleanliness adds a lot
to keeping a clean and green environment. An easy but beneficial way to improve a safe
environment is cleaning.
I. Narrative Report:
The importance of this project is to obtain its main objectives which are to remove
trash and debris from beaches, waterways, and other water bodies, to identify the sources
of the litter, to change behaviors that cause pollution, and to raise awareness on the extent
of the marine debris problem.
C. How can this project manifest you're being a responsible steward of God’s Creation?
This project manifests my responsibility as God's steward by showing me that we
humans have a great task in the management and taking care of our planet. As the
dominion creation of God, we should see the calling of Jesus to be connected towards his
other creation by changing and finding proper actions to accompany the needs and help
the creation of God, as we are the bridge and the way for his creation to be connected to
him. It made me realized that creating small actions starting from ourselves could lead to
a greater impact as we don't only create small changes towards our environment but the
changes of other people as we influence them to do their part. As I started picking up the
trashes found in the coastal area, I realized that no one's going to save our environment
than us. We created this issue it must be on us how to create a solution for this garbage by
simply throwing our trashes into a proper trash bin. The environmental project activates
your concern as a steward of God toward our world. We are not just making our planet a
beautiful garden but we are making a home for every species found in this world. As I
realized the lesson behind this activity it would be easier for me to apply this learning not
only in coastal areas but to every environmental area that God has given, this project
helps not only me but other people to be good and responsible stewards. This project
shows me how to appreciate God's creation and to be resourceful as we can have a wider
understanding of how to cope up with this inevitable upheaval. As a part, of this
generation, we should share different ideas and information to educate other citizens such
as by showing our actions and the importance of giving attention to the concerned
environmental issues. The preservation of our environment could be inherited by
thousands of species, let's save every one especially the lives of the future generation.
The changes must always start within us.
Conclusion
Prior to this project, a plan and preparation were conducted. The plan of actions and
procedures in participating this community service was planned and develop some precautionary
measures in order to successfully implement the project that could contribute to reduce wastes
alongshore. The said activity proponents will segregate the trashes and dispose the waste
properly. The purpose of the cleanup is to encourage people to put their trash in the trash can, to
keep our beach clean and it also promotes a better environment in the place.
The activity consists of picking up litters, proper disposal and segregation of wastes and
relocating debris from the beach that could possibly cause an accident or pollution. The
following materials that was use was garbage bags, facemasks, and phone/cameras (for
documentations).
The coastal clean-up was implemented successfully. The best result in this project was
achieved. Cleanliness in the area was achieved and I am able to improve the view of the spot as I
am able to remove the wastes along the area. The implementation of the project contributed to
the reduce of wastes along the shoreline. The specific problem was addressed and a proper waste
disposal and segregation of trashes was implemented.
The importance of this project is to engage people around the world to remove trash and
debris from beaches and waterways, to identify the sources of the litter, and to change the
behaviors that cause pollution. The trash in the water impacts the world on many levels,
including harming wildlife, humans, and impacting the livelihood of those who work on the
ocean. It causes economic damage by affecting tourism and recreation and the money they bring
into those communities that are the ocean shore that is why events like Coastal Cleanup Day are
so important.
No matter who you are, what you do or where you live, your actions have a direct impact
on the environment around you. It is necessary to keep our beaches clean if we hope to keep our
oceans clean. The sand and surf are far more than a place to build sand castles and take a dive.
Many animals depend on land to survive. Land that is untainted by chemical wastes or human
wastes. When the tides rise, they collect items on the beach and take the items out when the
water lowers, including trash. This can have negative effects on marine life. Animals do not
know that a shiny candy wrapper is not meant to be eaten. It can easily be mistaken as a fish or
piece of kelp. If ingested our trash can cause harm. However, trash can cause injury even if it is
not ingested, Creatures have been reported having straws stuck in their noses, or head stuck in
plastic bottle rings. There are ways to prevent this from happening to our ocean creatures. By
keeping this environment trash free we help protect and preserve marine life.
