In compliance with DIN VDE 0160105.88, all SIMODRIVE units are subject | toa high-voltage test at the time of routine testing. If the electrical ‘equipment of machine tools is subject to a high voltage test, all connections must be removed (permissible according to DIN VDE 0113 Part 1, Section 13.2). This measure prevents sensitive electronic ‘components from being damaged. When operational, protection against direct contact is provided in a form to allow the unit to be used in enclosed electrical equipment rooms (DIN |, VDE 0558 Part 1, Section 5.4.3.2.4.) The circuit diagrams in this manual are block diagrams and do not necessarily represent the actual circuit design. The human body must be electrically discharged before an electronic board is touched. This can be simply done by touching a conductive, grounded abject immediately beforehand (e.g. grounded power panel components, socket outlet protective conductor contact). © Siemans AG 1992 All Rights Reserved 6SC8600-78C00 on SIMODRIVE 660 (BE) © Protminary remarks 01.99 This instruction Manual does not claim to cover all equipment details or versions for every conceivable operational situation or application. | further information is required or it special problems occur which are not described in enough detail for your particular application, please contact your local Siemens office. They control the speed of the drive in 4-quadrant operation, and fulfill the highest demands regarding the dynamic control response, 1.2 Mode of operation The open-loop and closed-loop control of the AC main spindle drive is partially digital (microprocessor-based), and partially implemented per hardware, It consists of a speed controller with series ramp-function generator and a current controller. The current controller output is pulse-width modulated. The frequency, amplitude and phase of the motor voltage is precisely generated by the inverter, so that the required torque and magnetic field are obtained, taking into account the torque and field limits. ‘The speed actual value is sensed using an encoder on the motor shaft whose signals are transmitted to the N1 contro! board where they are evaluated. They should be connected according to the recommended connecting diagram and the customer's circuit diagram, The motor/converter adaption is realized using initialization (Sections 4 and 7). The setpoint and actual value cables are screened, and should be routed separately from the power cables. A twisted cable is recommended for the motor cable Control cables for the enable signals should be routed separately from the contactor control cables. noise problems occur, it is possible to connect the NC and drive reference grounds. The NC and the main spindle converter should be connected to ground through the shortest possible route: Minimum cable cross- section, 10 mm2. The connection is realized via connector X131 on the main spindle module. The protective conductors (PE) should be routed to 4 central position in the cubicle (minimum conductor cross-section 25 mm2) Contactors between the motor and converter, or supply and converter must not be switched under load. (when opening, the pulses must first be cancelled (terminal 63), and then 40 ms later the contactor can be opened) The power terminal retaining screws should be checked to ensure that they are tight. The retaining screws between the subrack front panels (S1, N1, G1 and N2) and the subrack should be checked to ensure they are tight. 2.2.1.
