STRENGTHS:
 Price is quite reasonable.
 Flexibility of product mix is tremendous with balancing
equipment.
 Adding to a new product line consistently when required.
 Availability of raw material is abundant.

WEAKNESS:
 Lack of control over yield.
 Inadequate transportation facility make milk procurement
problematic.
 Encounter of new entrants.
OPPORTUNITIES:
 Adding products to existing product line.
 Export potential.
 Always build a good relationship with customers.

THREATS:
 Milk vendors possess an unorganized structure.
 Different competitors
 Same products are being supplied by different
companies at same price
As everybody knows OMFED is the first milk
production factory in Orissa which is under the Gov.
During the initial time, OMFED was well reputed and
earned profit throughout the year. But nowadays a lot of
private companies also entered to same business so
now OMFED is not a position as compared to earlier
years. To regain its position in market OMFED should
use fully automated machine as compared to labor
power and provide their products in a reasonable price.
 Proper drainage system is required in order
to make the condition hygienic
 Proper care is needed in order to maintain the
loss of water.
 Capital intensive rather than labor intensive
 Intervention of automated machinery
 Control of excess milk loss during cleaning
process
 Ownership of milk vans for cost reduction
