Guidelines For Preparing Seminar Presentations

Preparing your presentation:

A successful seminar is the result of careful preparation of your speech and your presentation
material.
I. Research your subject
If you are called to speak on a topic, probably that is because you are already having
some knowledge of it. Even so, you need to reference from different books. This
helps you address and include points you have not thought about. It also helps you
determine a flow for the seminar.
II. Preparing the presentation
Include a presentation, Presentations help the audience to understand the underlying
points that the speaker has to say especially if the subject is rather vague. The
presentation should have an Introduction and a conclusion. The introduction can
include a summary of the topic and a brief overview of what the speaker will be
saying for the rest of the
duration of the seminar.
III. List out your seminar itinerary
The speaker should make sure that the audience knows how long this is going to take.
Give a brief idea on the important aspects of your speech so
that the audience is aware where they are during the seminar. Then start with an
introduction.
IV. Conclusion
Finally ensure that seminars are always conducted in an organization. Besides
drastically improving knowledge levels, it brings about an understanding of the
immensity of the vast unknowns in our profession or for that matter any profession.
This in turn eradicates complacency.

and cited consecutively in the text as Figure 2.1, Figure 2.2, to indicate the first and second
figures in Chapter 2 respectively. Similarly it is the case with tables such as Table 3.1, Table 3.2,
etc in chapter 3.
This means: If you are writing CHAPTER 1 (Centered, Capital, BOLD and Font size 16)
then all the figures labeled as Fig1.1, Fig 1.2, & if CHAPTER 2 then labeled as Fig2.1

6. The preliminary pages of the report (such as Title page, Table of Contents etc.) should
be numbered in lower case Roman numerals e.g. i, ii, iii, …. . The Title page, however,
will be treated numbered as i but this will not be typed. The page immediately
following the title page shall be numbered ii and it should appear at the bottom center
of the page, and so on. Pages of the main text, starting with Chapter 1 should be
consecutively numbered using Arabic numerals e.g. 1, 2, … . All page numbers
(whether Roman or Arabic) should be typed in the center of the page at the bottom.

7. The title TABLE OF CONTENTS in Times New Roman with size 16 bold as heading be
placed in centre & & start about 50 mm from the top of the page. One and a half spacing
should be adopted for typing the contents in a manner shown in specimen copy of the Table
Contents as given in Annexure

7. List of figure, list of tables, list of symbols must follow the same instructions as
followed by the ‘Table of content’. The text paragraph will be start from the Title

10. If facing problem in page no. then make the file for front pages to abstract separately and
give page no. by going in INSERT in main menu bar. And separately for Chapters as you can
