2 MULTILINGUAL SEARCH BY TITLE #X-Ray

AND TECHNOLOGY
Combining keywords in English (or other official languages of your job opening's location and their native language
equivalents of your target talent can dramatically increase your qualified pool. Even those who know English are more
comfortable (and likely) to post CVs, profiles, etc., in their native language.

For tech talent, combine job titles with universal keywords, e.g. for a Google search of Microsoft developers' Spanish
and English CVs:

(intitle:cv OR inurl:cv OR intitle:resume OR inurl:resume OR intitle:resumen OR inurl:resumen) (engineer OR

ingeniero OR developer OR desarrollador) "C#" ".NET" -apply -applica -example -ejemplo -jobs -ofertas -your -tu

You can get more native results by restricting to one language at a time (regardless of the language, include -jobs in
order to eliminate LinkedIn job postings) as well as use shorter strings on Google, besides:

(intitle:cv OR inurl:cv OR intitle:resumen OR inurl:resumen) (ingeniero OR desarrollador) "C#" ".NET" -applica

-ejemplo -jobs -ofertas -tu

This works equally well when searching profiles with the site:github.com and site:linkedin.com methods described in
previous editions of AmazingHiring's sourcing hacks.
You can even include terms from 16-bit/double-byte character languages such as Chinese (add intitle:简历 OR inurl:简历
to the CV part of the query, at a minimum), Japanese and Korean.

Use http://translate.google.com for each desired term, then copy and paste the result into your query, but double-check
with a fluent speaker to make sure you're using appropriate synonyms.

3 OCTOHUNT #GitHub
#Tool

Octohunt is a web application which allows

you to easily search the GitHub’s userbase
by skill and location.

The tool gives quick access to Github

profiles and the most important information
from them: repositories, gists, followers,
link to the personal website and contact
details.

Octohunt also shows whether the users

indicate themselves as available for hire
which can be a very useful feature for
sourcers.

*Note that if you are not authorised to GitHub the number of

search requests per hour would be limited.

9 USING GOODREADS #Goodreads
