III. Functions

1) Ignition function:
Decode Ignition ( ACC ) control signal from CAN data stream to make the head unit
standing by and go into working state, to make consumption of head unit becomes
lowest. ( It's on "ON" State after ignition , output: 12V. It's on "OFF" State when
remove the key, output: 0V. )
2) Illumination function:
Decode ILL control signal from CAN data stream to make the head unit switching
between Day & Night mode. ( The output is 12V when the dashboard light turns on ,
output is 0v when the dashboard light turn off ).
3) Reverse Signal :
Decode reverse signal from CAN data stream to make the head unit switching to rear
viewing camera input when reverse. ( Output is 12 V when speed in reverse,
otherwise is 0V).
4) Steering wheel control of car stereo. ( As the following pictures. ):
Decode the information of steering wheel control from CAN BUS to control
aftermarket DVD / GPS unit.

V. Core Components:

a) CAN Transceiver : Use TJA1054A from NXP. TJA1054A is the CAN BUS
transceiver with fault tolerance function, it's applicable to CAN BUS system and be
widely used in CAN BUS field, it's regard as the standard of fault tolerance CAN
transceiver in this industry.

b) CPU :Use STM32F103 from ST. STM32F103 use high performance ARM
Cortex-M3 by 32 bits, built-in High Speed Memory and standard can communication
interface. CAN interface is compatible with standard 2.0A & 2.0B ( Active ). The bit
rate is 1mb/ S, it satisfies all the function of CAN BUS control.
