materials for the spice manufacturing industry. Its products mainly include powdered sodium
benzoate and granular sodium benzoate. The long-distance transportation of powdered sodium
benzoate leads to product compaction, causing inconvenience to use, polluting the environment,
and poor fluidity. The granular sodium benzoate has good fluidity, but produces electrostatic
reaction, which brings unsafe factors to the special use environment, and the granular sodium
benzoate has high energy consumption, large consumption of raw materials, and the purity of the
product after high temperature and high pressure granulation reaction affect.
In order to solve the above technical problems, the present invention provides a new shape of
sodium benzoate. This sodium benzoate product has a uniform shape and is not fragile; it can save
raw materials and reduce costs during the production process, has low unit consumption, and well
controls the phenomenon of dust flying in the production process; there is no electrostatic reaction
during use and the flow performance is relatively good. It is good.

The sodium benzoate of the present invention has a molecular formula of C7H5NaO2 and a
columnar solid shape. The outer dimensions are preferably 0.1-2.5 mm in diameter, 1-20 mm in
length, most preferably 1.2-2.5 mm in diameter, 1-9 mm in length, and most preferably 1.2 mm in
diameter and 3-5 mm in length.

Any conventional method can be used to prepare the sodium benzoate solution, which can be a
neutralization reaction of benzoic acid and sodium hydroxide or a reaction of benzoic acid and
sodium carbonate. It is preferred that benzoic acid and sodium hydroxide are produced by the
neutralization reaction, because this production method is low in cost, tender and stable, and the
process does not emit CO2 gas, which effectively protects the environment. The preparation of
sodium benzoate solution is decolorized and filtered to produce pure white sodium benzoate
aqueous solution after the reaction is completed. It is preferred that Shiloh contains 36-38% sodium
benzoate (mass percentage) sodium benzoate aqueous solution, because if the solution

Sodium benzoate produces a benzoic scent during the production process, which is non-toxic and
harmless, but makes people feel uncomfortable. In order to eliminate the impact of benzoic acid on
the environment, the Shanhe reaction and slice drying process adopts a fully sealed production. The
gas is concentratedly drawn from the exhaust hole through the induced draft fan. Before the gas is
discharged, it is sprayed with water by the spray tower, and then cooled by the cyclone separator,
which effectively reduces the gas emission and makes the discharged gas standard meet the national
emission standard , And. The recovered distilled water is recycled as production water. In the
process of extrusion, drying and packaging, the smallest dust is generated, and the bag filter is used
for dust collection and recovery.
The change of the column size of the sodium benzoate of the present invention is obtained by
correspondingly controlling the diameter of the discharge hole on the die plate of the extruder. The

The sodium benzoate of the present invention has the following beneficial effects:

2. Granular sodium benzoate has static electricity and is not conducive to safe use. Powdered
sodium benzoate has poor fluidity, is easy to harden, and is inconvenient to use. However,
the sodium benzoate of the present invention has no electrostatic reaction during use,
which is beneficial to safe use. And the flow performance is better.
3. It can save raw materials, reduce costs, and reduce unit consumption. When benzoic acid
and sodium hydroxide are used as raw materials, 0.848 tons of benzoic acid and 0.278 tons
of sodium hydroxide are used per ton of columnar sodium benzoate, and 0.91 tons of
benzoic acid and 0.29 tons of sodium hydroxide are used for granular sodium benzoate.

present invention is 141 kwh/t, while the power consumption of granular sodium benzoate

process by using the wet method to extrude the columnar sodium benzoate, and the dust
reduction rate reaches more than 95%.

sodium benzoate, granular sodium benzoate is prone to generate trace static electricity, high energy
consumption of the product, poor chromaticity and other defects. It is predicted that the advent of

not only has the advantages of powdered and granular sodium benzoate, effectively overcomes the

≥98% (mass percentage) and 870Kg of liquid caustic soda with a main content of 32% (mass
percentage) for neutralization to generate sodium benzoate solution. Then decolorize and filter
through the activated carbon decolorizing tank to obtain a sodium benzoate aqueous solution
containing 37% (mass percentage) of sodium benzoate.
The solution is added to the slicing slicer heated by Shanyan steam, and the slices are dried and
concentrated into flake sodium benzoate with a water content of 23% (mass percentage). The
general steam of the slicer is maintained at 0.45 Mpa and the humidity is controlled at 160 C. The
speed of the slicer is 3r/min. Then it enters the extrusion granulator through the silo for granulation.
The extruder is a single screw type with a screw diameter of 120 mm and a rotation speed of
85r/min. After granulation, it is transported to the lower dryer for drying. The inlet air temperature
of the dryer is 150°C and the outlet air temperature is 70°C. The dried columnar sodium benzoate is
screened by a moving sieve to obtain the sodium benzoate with a diameter of 1.2 mm, a length of 3
to 5 mm, and a main content of 99.81% (mass percentage), which is finally transported to the
finished product silo for packaging . The hot air of the dryer is purified by a high-efficiency air purifier
and the air is transported to the heat exchanger by a blower, and the steam is simultaneously
transported to the heat exchanger to be generated and then passed into the dryer. The dried
exhaust gas is separated by the cyclone separator and then passed through The bag filter removes

mm, and a main content of 99.54% (mass percentage).

First add 980Kg of distilled water, then add 850Kg of benzoic acid solution with main content >98%
(mass percentage) and liquid caustic soda with main content of 32% (mass percentage) and 870Kg

activated carbon decolorization tank to obtain a sodium benzoate aqueous solution containing 37%
(mass percentage) of sodium benzoate, and add this sodium benzoate solution to a drum slicer
