Requires continuous learning to maintain certification status

Establishes DoD IA Certification Oversight Advisory Board under the DoD CIO/NII

Requires privileged user agreement outlining responsibilities, plus legal and policy
limitations of their authority

 All four branches of the military have integrated CompTIA certifications in


their programs
 Each military schoolhouse is teaching at least one CompTIA certification in
their IT training programs

 The U.S. DoD requires every CompTIA-certified IA workforce member to


obtain a CompTIA CE credential as part of DoD D8570.01-M.
 DoD personnel who take a CompTIA exam after Dec. 31, 2010 are
automatically enrolled in the CE program. They no longer recognize
individuals as being “good for life”.
 The Defense Workforce Certification Application (DWCA), more commonly
known as the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) application, tracks
participation in the CE program.
