MESH DETAIL- Now after going for meshing and for sizing and
choosing body selection filter and then choosing the sphere.and for
meshing choosing element size as 100mm.Again selecting the body

as outer_ boundary. After updating final mesh was generated.
SET UP DETAIL-
After going to workbench, going under analysis system to Fluid
Flow( Fluent). After going to geometry and snapping to curve
center, creating a sphere of 2m radius. Now after going for meshing
and for sizing and choosing body selection filter and then choosing
the sphere.and for meshing choosing element size as 100mm.Again
selecting the body and giving him selection name fluid_domain.Now
on changing the face selection filter selecting the face and giving it as
selection name as outer_ boundary. After updating final mesh was
generated.
After that setup option is being generated for which double precision
mode is being opted. Now on going to the model and turning the
energy equation on,for which fluid is taken as air for which all
constants value is taken as 1.After which going to cell domain and
going to source terms from fluid_domain.Taking energy sources as a
constant of -3 this corrosponde to alpha of ½.
After going to the boundary condition temperature unit is changed
to celcuis and taken as a value of 1 degree.
Then after going to control we are turn offing the flow equation. We
go to the report definitions to measure the convergence we go to
surgace report and we access the area weighted average,we name it
as heat-flux-out.In field variable we want wall fluxes total surface
heat flux. Now on clicking the monitors residual we have the energy
equation. It will converge fast,so we are adding the convergence
condition as heat flux out.Going to standard initialisation
temperature is taken as 1 degree celcuis, with number of iterations
20,then after we run it.
The analytical solution is contained in the following file showing the concentration (or
equivalently, the temperature) at various radial locations.
Analytical alpha 0.5
In addition, here are the analytical solutions for
Analytical alpha 1 and Analytical alpha 1.5
