‘SWACHHTA HI SEVA’
and
‘SWACHHTA PAKHWADA’ 2019
The Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan, launched on 02.10.2014 across the country as a national
movement, is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India. According
to the Government, a clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi
on his 150th birth anniversary in 2019.
Under the aegis of 6(O) Bn NCC, Puri, 1/3 Company Rajdhani College has observed Swachhata
Pakhwada from 30.09.2019 to 02.10.2019. Under this event, various activities have been
undertaken :
‘Letter to Bapu’ Competition.
Swachhata Exhibition
Swachhata Shapath Divas.
Dustbin Awareness.
Community outreach rally.
Prize giving ceremony
This report, thereby, gives detailed information about the events organized under the initiative
‘Swachhata hi Seva’ and ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’.

‘LETTER TO BAPU’ COMPETITION
As directed by the Govt. of India, a letter writing competition on the theme “Letter to Bapu”
was organized on 30th September 2019. In the presence of the Principal Dr. Sasmita Tripathy,
A.N.O. Lt. Dr. B B Mohapatra, Dr. Saroj Kumar Pradhan, Dr. Subrat Kumar Samal, Dr.
Sandhyarani Nayak & Dr Priyadarshini Routray, 7 students along with 36 N.C.C. cadets wrote a
letter to Mahatma Gandhi. The letter conveyed their contribution to sanitation in the society,
their vision of Swachha Bharat as well as their commitment of future actions for building an
India of Bapu’s dream. The program was conducted by Cdt. Swati Panda, assisted by Cdt. Ipsita
Sahoo, Cdt. Nirmal Kumar Mohapatra, Cdt. Karunakar Hansdah, Cdt. Sudhanshu Sethy
and Cdt. Tapa Ranjan Moharana.

SWACHHTA EXHIBITION
A college level exhibition was organized on 30th September 2019. N.C.C. cadets
along with students made artistic paintings, posters, caricatures and slogans to
showcase in the exhibition. In the presence of A.N.O. Lt. Dr. B B Mohapatra. a
group of faculties visited the exhibition including Dr. Bimbadhar Rout, Dr.
Sureswar Meher, Dr. Baijayanti Rout, Dr. Manas Ranjan Satpathy, Mrs Rajashree
Padhy, Mrs Mitrabinda Ray and Mr. Bhabani Shankar Panigrahi. The exhibition
was conducted by Cdt. Hitish Ranjan Swain and assisted by Cdt. Swayambrata
Pradhan, Cdt. Aju Sahoo, Cdt. Deepak Behera, Cdt. Bhagat Lohar, Cdt. Manisha
Biswal, Cdt. Raj Kumar, Cdt. Madhuspada Bisoi, Cdt. Ipsita Paikaray and Cdt.
Bidya Sagar Soren. Some of the remarkable efforts were paintings by Cdt. Naresh

wits. The extremely practical posters and charts pointed out to the fact that plastic and waste
management can indeed be mitigated, we just need to take the first step forward. The very aim
of this event was to arouse this realization and make our cadets and students, our force, against
our war with plastic waste.

SWACHHATA SAPATH DIVAS
The series of events were followed by the Swachhata Sapath Samaroh on 1st October 2019. A
congregation of exciting hearts and beaming faces, graced with the presence of venerated
Principal Dr. Sasmita Tripathy, A.N.O. Lt. Dr. B B Mohapatra, Dr Bimbadhar Rout, Dr.
Debashis Patra, Dr. Saroj Kumar Pradhan, Dr. Manas Ranjan Satapathy, Dr. Alpana Patra, Dr.
Tamala Kumari Brahma, Dr. Sujata Priyadarshini, Dr. Sureswar Meher, Dr. Subrat Kumar Samal,
Mrs. Mamata Mohapatra, Mr. Gopabandhu Mohapatra and Mr. Deba
Gochhayat among many others. The ceremony was organized by Cdt. Hari Shankar Chhatia,
assisted by Cdt. Dillip Bhoi, Cdt. Akshaya Kumar Raita, Cdt. Lipun Nayak, Cdt. Binaya Kumar
Hial, Cdt. Damayanti Nayak, Cdt. Chinmay Ranjan Sahoo, Cdt. Renuka Mirdha, Cdt. Saswat
Kumar Behra, Cdt. Manoj Kumar Soren and Cdt. Ashish. 48 cadets along with many college
students took part in the ceremony.

CADETS MAKING FORMATION THE SHAPATH SAMAROH
For a dream to become a reality, we need commitment to take the first step. The Swachhata
Shapath Samaroh is intended to be that first step. The gathering took oath to keep its
surrounding clean, to take care of personal hygiene, to do proper waste segregation and
disposal, to avoid plastic, to plant trees and give every bit of possible contribution to make a
‘Swachha Bharat, Swastha Bharat, Sukhi Bharat’. The commitment will always remained etched
on our minds and will keep our aim clear and vision, intact.

DUSTBIN AWARENESS
It is not plausible to think of a cleanliness campaign with dustbins and dustbin awareness.
Another round of events on 1st October 2019 included an elaborate dustbin awareness session.
Present amongst the campaigners were our revered faculty members Dr. Manas Bhunya, Dr.
Sanghamita Jena, Dr. Arun Kumar Samal, Dr. Sarojkanta Choudhury etc. It was organized by
Cdt. Litu Pradhan, Cdt. Sibaram Muduli, Cdt. Loknath Pradhan, Cdt. Rohan Behera, Cdt. Priti
Puja Pradhan, Cdt. Srustidhar Das, Cdt. Sunil Kumar Pradhan, Cdt. Sonalee Lenka. The team
members did sincere efforts to ensure that every bit of information reaches every soul present at
the event.
The quintessential Dustbin Awareness session showcased the four different colored dustbins-
Green, Yellow, Blue and Red. The cadets described the purpose as well as the method of
waste segregation and its benefits coupled with live demonstration. The cadets’ prowess
definitely made it a brainstorming event.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH RALLY
The final stages of the ‘Swachhata hi Seva’ campaign witnessed an enormous walk-door-to-door
rally carried out in the entire stretch of Baramunda village surrounding the college campus. The
rally was flagged off by the honorable Principal Dr. Sasmita Tripathy and A.N.O. Lt. Dr. B B
Mohapatra. The cadets, with full enthusiasm voiced slogans with banners and placards to spread
awareness among the village folk. The rally was efficiently organized under the leadership of
Cdt. Abhijit Patra , with assistance of Cdt. Sushree Sangita Das, Cdt. Rudra Narayan Sahoo,
Cdt. Naresh Karakariya, Cdt. Simanchal Behera, Cdt. Madhusmita Behra, Cdt. Harischandra
Parida, Cdt. Pragya Paramita Sethi, Cdt. Kamal Kumar Das and Cdt. Ghanashyam Sethi.

PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY
After a long series of effective campaigns and events, the ‘Swachhta hi Seva’ and ‘Swachhta
Pakhwada’ culminated in a huge regard and recognition for all the hard work that has been put
into. The campaign itself bears testimony to the fact that if the youth is channelized in the right
direction, be it a dream of Swachha Bharat or any other dream, these youth will responsibly bear
that onus. On the same note, in order to acknowledge and encourage the efforts of cadets and
participants, they were awarded with certificates and tokens of appreciations. Here’s the list of
