I- Directions: Identify what is being referred to in each item.

1. A substance that is important in people for strong and healthy bones.


2. It is a substance that helps digest food.
3. A macronutrient that is essential to building muscle mass which is commonly found in
animal products.
4. A substance found in certain foods that provide your body with heat and energy.
5. This will serve as your guide on how many servings from each food group that is
recommended daily.
6. The science that interprets the nutrients and other substances in food in relation to
maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism.
7. These are substances found in food that your body needs to function properly.
8. Refers to deficiencies/ excesses or imbalances in a person’s intake of energy and/or
nutrients.
9. It is a medical condition in which a person has too much body fat.
10. It is an iron deficiency in which the red blood cell count or haemoglobin is less than normal.

 Eat regular meals, especially breakfast. This keeps the body fuelled and will
give the energy needed for the day.
 Cut down on high fat and high sugar foods.
 Remember to remain active and exercise or join a sport.
 Get enough rest and sleep.
 Do not smoke and do not drink alcoholic beverages.
