e. Name the poet of the poem “Geography lesson”?
f. What was the problem with the cricket?

Attempt any one out of two questions in each part. (2*2.5=5)

a. You are Abhay, the Sports Captain of D.A.V. Model School. Write a notice in 50
words for the school notice board informing the students about the interschool
basketball match to be played.

OR
You are Vijay/Vijaya, the Head boy/Head girl of Vivekanand Public School, Greater
Noida. Your school has decided to hold a fete in the school playground. The principal
has asked you to write a notice about this fete inviting the students and the teachers to
participate in it.

b. You are Rohit. Today morning you received a call from Mr. Joseph, your father’s
friend. Your father was on his morning walk. Mr. Joseph asked you to please convey
your father that he is suffering from fever. He is not in a position to go to the office
today. He has asked your father to inform the Managing Director.

OR
Rakesh had the following conversation with Mohit, a friend of his elder brother.
Mohit: Hello! Is it 23967509?
Rakesh: Yes, please. Who are you to talk please?
Mohit: May I talk to Rahul, please? I am his friend.
Rakesh: Oh! Sorry. In fact, Rahul isn’t at home. He will be back in an hour. By the way, I
am his brother. Can I do anything for you?
Mohit: Oh. Sure, in fact I have a message for Rahul. Could you please tell him?
Rakesh: Sure, with pleasure. Tell me, please.
Mohit: Today we have planned to go to a movie at PVR, Saket in the evening. We have
booked ticket in advance. So please ask Rahul to join us at 5pm at the PVR.
Rakesh: OK, I’ll inform him when he comes back.
As Rakesh had to leave for his coaching classes, he left this message for Rahul.
Write the message on his behalf in not more than 50 words. Put the message in a
box.
