LogExportTool Use Guide For BeneVision
LogExportTool Use Guide For BeneVision
1. Overview
The Log Exporter Tool is designed to export logs from the CentralStation, the WorkStation, the
ViewStation, and patient monitors within the BeneVision patient monitoring network.
LogExportUI is a setup interface in the System Setup menu of the CentralStation, the WorkStation,
and the ViewStation. It is used to add a device, display devices, and configure a file storage
directory. It sends the log export command to specified devices and then receive and save the files.
LogExporter is a service running in the background. It is used to receive commands sent by
LogExportUI and send logs to LogExportUI.
2. Deployment Requirements
This section introduces the environment requirements of the Log Exporter Tool. These requirements cover
network requirements and software installation requirements.
9600-10000 is the TCP port number that needs to be enabled for LogExportUI.
6589, 9600-10000 is the port numbers that needs to be enabled for LogExporter.
Other port numbers in the BeneVision patient monitoring network are blocked.

vRAM 4GB
Disk 100MB
NICs 100/1000 Mbps
Note: The disk space in the table above refers to the space that is required by running the Log Exporter
Tool.
3. In the Local port: text box, set the enabled port to 9600-10000 for LogExporterUI. Then select OK.
4. In the Inbound Rules window, configure the TCP port for LogExporter.
5. In the Local port: text box, set the enabled port to 6589,9600-10000 for LogExporter. Then select
OK.
4. Use Guidance
The following table lists the device type and log type supported by the Log Exporter Tool.
log
Alarm
1. At the WorkStation, select the system menu area in the upper left corner of the screen →
select System Setup to access the System Setup menu → select the Other tab → select log.
2. On the right of Device Name, select the device where data is to be exported.
Local: exports data from current system.
Department where a remote CentralStation is located: exports data from a remote
CentralStation. The following figure takes CentralStation 177 as an example. Beds from
CentralStation 177 are beign observed at the WorkStation.
Example Interfaces
When Local is selected, current device name is displayed in the Device Type column, as shown
below.
When a remote CentralStation is selected, the remote CentralStation, patient monitors being
monitored at this CentralStation, as well as patient monitors that have the same multicast address as
the CentralStation in the same network are displayed in the Device Type column, as shown below.
In the Setup dialog, you can set the log export directory and clinical data directory.
Export to Directory: sets the directory where exported logs are saved.
Select . The Browse for Folder dialog is displayed. Select the desired directory, and then
select OK. Exported files will be saved in this directory.
Clinical Data Directory: sets the directory where exported clinical data are saved. The directory
should be consistent with the clinical storage path of the CentralStation whose data needs to be
exported.
Before adding a device, smooth network communication between the CentralStation and the current PC
should be guaranteed.
4. Select OK.
This device is added and displayed in the device list in the Device Type column, as shown below.
If you add the IP address of a WorkStation or ViewStation, only this WorkStation or ViewStation is
displayed in the device list, as shown below.
If you add the IP address of a CentralStation, this CentralStation, patient monitors being monitored
by this CentralStation, as well as patient monitors with the same multicast address as this
CentralStation will be displayed in the device list.

In the Device Type column, N Series Monitor represents BeneVision N series patient monitor. Logs of
these patient monitors can be exported. Logs of other patient monitors cannot be exported. Logs and
clinical data of the central monitoring systems can be exported.
The following section introduces log export procedures in different network environments.

If you wish to export the log of Monitor 1at CentralStation 1, select Local, and then select Export at
CentralStation 1. The Log Exporter Tool window is displayed.
If Monitor 1 is already online at CentralStation 1, you can select it from the device list and then
select Export Log.
If Monitor 1 is not displayed in the device list, select Add Device Manually. The Add Device
Manually dialog is displayed. Enter the IP address (196.76.0.5 in this example) and select OK.
Monitor 1 is now displayed in the device list. Select it and thenselect Export Log.
When beds from CentralStation1 are being observed at WorkStation 1/ViewStation 1/CentralStation
2, if you wish to export the log of CentralStation 1 or Monitor 1 at the WorkStation 1/ViewStation
1/CentralStation 2, do as follows:
1. Select CentralStation 1 for Device Name at WorkStation 1/ViewStation 1/CentralStation 2.
2. Select Export. The Log Exporter Tool window is displayed.
3. Select the desired device from the device list.
4. Select Export Log.
When beds from CentralStation1 are not observed at WorkStation 1/ViewStation 1/CentralStation 2,
if you wish to export the log of CentralStation 1 at the WorkStation 1/ViewStation 1/CentralStation
2, do as follows:
1. Select Local for Device Name at WorkStation 1/ViewStation 1/CentralStation 2.
2. Select Export. The Log Exporter Tool window is displayed.
3. Select Add Device Manually. The Add Device Manually dialog is displayed.
4. Select CMS on the right of IP Address.
5. Enter the IP address of CentralStation 1 (10.48.19.45 in this example).
6. Select OK. CentralStation 1 and Monitor 1are now displayedi n the device list.
7. Select the desired device from the device list.
8. Select Export Log.
4.4.2 Bedside Monitoring Network and Central Monitoring Network Are the Same
Figure 4-15 Bedside Monitoring Network and Central Monitoring Network Are the Same
Compared with the network in Section 4.4.1, the difference lies in that you can access the Log Exporter
Tool at WorkStation 1 and then add a monitor’s IP directly. Then export the monitor’s log.
1. Select the system menu area in the upper left corner of the screen → select System Setup to
access the System Setup menu → select the Alarm tab → select log.
2. On the right of Device Name, select the device where data is to be exported.
