Run-On Sentences

Run-on sentences occur when two independent clauses are joined without proper punctuation or conjunction. There are two main types of run-on sentences: comma splice run-ons, which join clauses with only a comma, and fused sentence run-ons, which have no punctuation between clauses. Both types can be corrected by adding a conjunction, separating the clauses with a period, or using a semicolon.
