On the classic minesweeper, the resets the board. The google version has a “Try

A “block” will refer to a space that either has a number or is filled green as shown below
Controls
1. Click randomly to get some free blocks. Your screen should look something like
this:
2. Look at the numbers near a “filled” block (green blocks in the image above). The
number indicates the number of mines that are in the adjacent filled blocks.
In the image above, the bottom most red rectangle has one filled block
surrounded by the number 1, meaning there is one mine in that block.
In the middle red rectangle, the number 2 on the right has exactly two mines
adjacent to it, and the number 2 on the left has exactly two mines adjacent to it,
which is shared by the number 3 in the middle. The same strategy applies for the
topmost red rectangle and for the rest of the board.
In the image above, mines are placed that are highlighted by the flag. The red
rectangle shows the blocks that do not have any mines because the underlined
number 2’s already has two mines adjacent to it, so the rest of the adjacent
blocks can be cleared.
4. As you start clearing more blocks, you will notice that there will be more blocks
than mines, forcing you to guess where to place the flags.
In the image above, the second 3 from the left and the first 3 from the bottom
both need 1 mine that is adjacent to it and there are 3 blocks in which it could be.
To find out which block has the mine, look at the shared block between both
numbers, which would be the block highlighted in the image below.
5. Repeat the above two steps until you clear all the mines.
● When finding mines, try to find mines associated with the number 2, 3, and 4
since they will help open more blocks that doesn’t contain mines.
● After placing the flags, double click on the number that is associated with the
flags; this will clear all the adjacent blocks that do not contain mines
simultaneously.
● When trying to find the mines quickly, start with the numbers that you can
immediately distinguish the mine associated with it.
