Load Distribution Calculation by One Way Slab

This document provides a step-by-step calculation of load distribution for a one-way slab. It includes calculations for the self-weight of the slab and beams, live loads, load transfer from slab to beam and from beam to column, and finally the total load on the column footing. First, the given specifications and dimensions of the slab, beams, column, and loads are stated. Then, the self-weight of the slab is calculated as 4.5 kN/m and live load as 3 kN/m. Next, the total load on the beams is calculated as 52.5 kN/m. Further calculations determine the load transfer amounts and the final total load on the column footing of 42.

• SLAB LOAD CALCULATION
• Self weight of slab
= 7 x 1.5 x.12 (Depth of slab = .12)
= 1.26 x25 ( unit weight of concrete = 25)
= 31.5 4.5 kN/m 3kN/m
= 31.5/7 = 4.5 kN/m
DEAD LOAD = 4.5 kN/m
• LIVE LOAD CALCULATION
= 7 X 1.5 = 10.5
7m
= 10.5 X 2 = 21 kN/m2 ( live load = 2)
= 21/7 = 3 kN/m
LIVE LOAD = 3 kN/m
• BEAM LOAD CALCULATION
Total load on slab to beam
D.L + L.L
= 31.5 + 21 6.6 m
= 52.5 kN/m
Self load on beam
Clear span = 6.6 m ( 7-.4) = 6.6 m (.4 Column size)
• Self wt of beam
= .23 x .38 x 6.6 .4 m .4 m
= .577 x 25 7m
= 14.425 kN/m
= 14.425 / 6.6 = 2.186 kN/m
• LOAD TRANSFER FROM BEAM TO COLUMN
slab load + beam self weight / 2
= 52.5 +14.425 /2
= 33.465 kN
• Self wt of beam
= .23 x .38 x 6.6
= .577 x 25
= 14.425 kN/m
= 14.425 / 6.6 = 2.186 kN/m
• LOAD TRANSFER FROM BEAM TO COLUMN
slab load + beam self weight / 2
= 52.5 +14.425 /2
= 33.465 kN 2.77m
• Second beam load calculation
Self weight of beam
= .23 x .23 x 2.77 = ( 3- .23 =2.77)
= .147 x 25
= 3.675 .23 m
.23 m
= 3.675/2.77 = 1.327 kN/m
3m
• Column load calculation
Self weight of column
= .23 x .4 x 3
= .276 x 25
= 6.9 kN
• FOOTING LOAD CALCULATION
DEAD LOAD
= 31.5 (SL)(DL) + 14.425 (BL)(DL) +3.675(SBL)(DL) /2
= 49.6 /2
= 24.8 + 6.9 (CSW)
= 31.7kN
LIVE LOAD
21 /2
= 10.5 kN
• Total load on footing = dead load + live load
= 31.7 + 10.5
= 42.2 kN
TOTAL LOAD = 42.2 kN
