Individual SPSS Assignment - 1

This document provides instructions for an SPSS assignment that must be submitted by August 19th. It involves analyzing data from an employee file to examine predictors of counterproductive work behaviors, turnover intentions, burnout, job satisfaction, and work engagement. The tasks include averaging variables, assessing assumptions of regression, conducting regression and correlation analyses, testing for differences between groups using independent samples t-tests and ANOVA, and examining moderation and mediation effects using the PROCESS macro. Results including tables, statistics, and conclusions are to be reported following APA style guidelines.

Individual -SPSS Assignment:

To be submitted on 19th of August, 9 pm, non-negotiable.

This Report is to be submitted in Times new Roman, 12 font, double space and proper
headings for all questions. Moreover, be precise in reporting the results and avoid
unnecessary lengthy details.

The data in the data file, Employee File .sav has been collected from the employees of a
multinational firm. The objective of the research is to find out the predictors of
counterproductive work behaviors (CWB) and turnover intentions (TOI) in organizations. In
addition to these two variables, the researcher collected data on Burnout (BOUT), job
satisfaction (JS), and work engagement (WENG) through 5 anchored Likert scale. In addition to
this there are three more variables in the file (ORG_SUPPORT, LMX, TRUST,
ORG_COMMITTMENT, they are already averaged so you don’t need to average them out).

Q-1
1- First of all compute new variables AVG_CWB, AVG_TOI, AVG_BOUT, AVG_JS, and
AVG_WENG by taking average of these variables (you need to use compute new variable
function for this). Use these averaged scores in all regression analysis.

2- Find out whether AVG_JS predictsAVG_ CWB. Report adjusted R 2 and coefficient beta
with their tables.

3- Find out whether AVG_BOUT predicts AVG_TOI. Report adjusted R 2 and coefficient beta
with their tables.

4- a) Find out whether there is a significant correlation between AVG_BOUT and

AVG_TOI. Report co-efficient of correlation and significance value.

5- If there is a significant correlation between the two then find out whether
AVG_BOUT predicts AVG_TOI. Report adjusted R2 and coefficient beta with their
tables in case there is a causality.

Before you go on running simple linear regressions separately forAVG_ JS and AVG_BOUT on the
above, check and report whether the above variables fulfil all the assumptions (given only in the
word document sent to you) for linear regression.
Q-2 a) Find out whether men and women are any different in their organizational
commitment? Which test will you use and why? State the hypothesis and report the p value
and relevant table.
b) Find out whether men and women are any different in their organizational commitment?
Which test will you use and why? Report the p value and relevant table.

c) Find out whether gender and qualification have a combined effect on work engagement?
Use AVG_WENG for analysis and if there is a combined effect then produce ONLY pairwise
analysis table of gender*qualification by using syntax command and tell which categories
have a combined significant effect on AVG_WENG. Which technique you will use and why.

Q-3 The researcher is interested to test the following hypotheses.

1- Whether TRUST moderates the relationship between ORG_SUPPORT and

ORG_COMMITTMENT.

2- Whether LMX mediates the relation between ORG_SUPPORT and

ORG_COMMITTMENT.

3- For this run PROCESS Macro models 1 and 4 respectively and just report the
important results. In case of moderation, report whether interaction term is
significant, its beta coefficient, and if its significant then report whether the
interaction was significant for higher (mean +1 SD) or Lower (mean -1SD) values of
moderator. Also copy paste the relevant table.

In case of mediation , you just have to report whether the indirect effect was
significant and if so, report the upper and lower boundaries of the confidence interval
and the coefficient only. No tables.
