Character Sketch Rubric

The rubric provides a detailed scoring guide for character sketches, awarding points out of 20 for meeting certain criteria in key areas such as ideas, organization, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions. A score of 15-20 points demonstrates a clear characterization with relevant examples, logical organization, precise word choice, varied sentences, and correct grammar. Lower scores are given for more vague, disorganized, repetitive or error-filled sketches that do not fully convey the character.
