1. BARANGAY HEALTH WORKERS
- “barangay health worker” refers to a person who has undergone training
programs under any accredited government and non-government organization and who voluntarily renders primary health care services in the community after having been accredited to function as such by the local health board in accordance with the guidelines promulgated by the Department of Health (DOH).
2. INTERMEDIATE LEVEL HEALTH WORKERS
- include the Public Health Nurse, Rural Sanitary Inspector and midwives. PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE Public health nurses believe a person’s health is affected by many factors, including genetic makeup, lifestyle and environment. RURAL SANITARY INSPECTOR Inspects community land areas and investigates complaints concerning neglect of property and illegal dumping of refuse to ensure compliance with municipal code: Inspects designated areas periodically for evidence of neglect, excessive litter, and presence of unsightly or hazardous refuse. MIDWIFES A midwife is a health professional trained to support and care for women during pregnancy, labour and birth. They help you to stay healthy in pregnancy and, if no complications arise, to give birth with little intervention. Midwives also care for you and your baby in the first few weeks following the birth.
