Wi Fi Blaster G3 Felix

The document proposes developing a "Wi-Fi Blaster" to address poor internet connectivity issues in the Philippines. The Wi-Fi Blaster would boost the capacity and signal range of ordinary Wi-Fi routers using an array of copper disks. It aims to provide better internet access for activities like online education and social networking. Developing an affordable alternative solution is important as internet access in the Philippines is slow, expensive, and critical for many. The Wi-Fi Blaster design and the materials needed can be obtained locally to address connectivity issues exacerbated by the pandemic.

WI-FI BLASTER: AN ALTERNATIVE TOOL TO INCREASE THE INTERNET

CAPACITY AND SIGNAL RANGE OF AN ORDINARY WI-FI ROUTER

I. ABSTRACT

Background

Poor internet has become a major issue in the Philippines. Everyone is

actively engaged, particularly Netizens. Nowadays, people need the internet

because almost everything is readily accessible through the use of it, such as

online education, online shopping, social networking sites, and so much more.

Though not as poor as dial-up internet in the early 2000s, download and upload

rates in the country seem to lag behind their Southeast Asian counterparts.

According to Natividad (2021), in terms of fixed broadband, the Philippines

was ranked about 100th in the world, with an average download speed of 32.37

megabits per second (Mbps). Thailand and Singapore, meanwhile, are in the top

three, with 220Mbps and 247Mbps, respectively. Moreover, according to the World

Bank survey, fixed broadband plans in these two countries cost about the same

as in the Philippines. Aside from its slow speeds, internet access in the Philippines

is still among the most expensive in the country. Also, as stated by the 2020 Digital

Quality of Life Index, the Philippines was ranked 82nd out of 85 nations when it

comes to internet affordability. The increased demand and poor customer

satisfaction provided by internet providers has frustrated the Filipinos, who have

been believed to be the most socially engaged citizens. This is especially relevant

today, when the world becomes more interactive and engaged in using different

types of technologies.

On the other hand, ISPs (Internet Service Providers) should find a solution

to the Philippines' poor internet access. To mitigate the issue, they should fix all of

the towers. Whereas in the Philippines, about 18,000 telecom towers have been

built. For optimum coverage, the nation will need an additional 50,000 people.

Since the majority of Filipinos access online content from their mobile phones,

these cell towers are critical in delivering connectivity to the masses (Natividad,

2021). Furthermore, since most ISPs are reluctant to embrace advanced 4G-LTE

connections, cell link speeds remain slow. Since the majority of the people

nowadays are using the Internet, the government must assist with seeking a

solution regarding this issue.

However, the actions to solve the issues regarding to poor internet

connection in the country might be delayed due to the current situation that the

country is facing right now. Therefore, the researchers made an action or an

alternative solution to solve this issue, which is called as “Wi-Fi Blaster: an

alternative tool to increase the internet capacity and signal range of an

ordinary Wi-Fi router”. This device will solve the issues about weak internet

connection through boosting the internet capacity of an ordinary Wi-Fi router for

better internet connectivity. This will also give the users a wider range of internet

connectivity even if they are far away from their home. Moreover, the materials

needed regarding this proposed project is accessible and can be found from home.

In connection, having a good internet connection is the most fulfilling and

satisfying in one’s life. Internet and other digital devices are mostly used in this

time of crisis that every country is facing and it is also part of every person’s system

of life.

Problem to be Solve

One of the major problems of the Philippines nowadays, is the poor internet

connection that is provided by the ISPs (Internet Service Providers). As more

Filipinos use their mobile phones to connect to the worldwide web, the speed of

mobile data transmission has become an issue to a great chunk of the population.

Especially, in today’s situation that a lot of people are all depending their lives

online and also it is part of their essentials. Moreover, beyond the issue of slow

internet connection issues of the country is that, it is also one of those countries

who has the most expensive internet service fee.

Therefore, the researchers have landed with this kind of invention, which is

the Wi-Fi Blaster, and expected to cure the given problem of every internet

consumer. This Wi-Fi Blaster can be an alternative solution with regards to the

internet connection issues of the country.

Objectives

The overall objectives of the project are as follows:

 To help the users to have a better experience in using the internet through
the use of the Wi-Fi Blaster.
 To give the user an access to different social media and/or different online
platforms better and faster than ever.
 To promote an alternative solution with regards to the poor internet
connection that the users are experiencing nowadays.

II. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The Wi-Fi Blaster is made of copper, screws, metal stick and wires. In

making the 7 disk, the researchers used copper plates with 3mm (millimeter) thick

and 90, 68, and 37 for each size of the disks.

The copper disk of the blaster increases the signal of the router or the

internet and also extends its signal up to 10km away from the user’s house. Each

copper element magnifies the bandwidth of the internet signals that can be

detected by USB/broadband used. The Wi-Fi Blaster can make the signal

reception gain increase exponentially, compared to the normal WIFI repeaters

which has coverage limitations in 2.4 GHz frequency.

Thus, the signals, would be reliable once connected to stable internet

service provider. The Wi-Fi blaster can double the speed of your ordinary Wi-Fi

router. Furthermore, this product's antenna can be installed in high elevations like

household rooves. This can be further extended using coaxial wires used for cable

television.

III. ILLUSTRATION

This illustration depicts the blueprint of how will the Wi-Fi Blaster is expected

to be arranged. Including the measurements of the expected spacing of each
