Dual Allegiance Vs Dual Citizenship A. Dual Allegiance (INTENTIONAL)

Dual allegiance, where a person intentionally maintains allegiance to their original country in addition to the Philippines, is prohibited by Philippine law as it implies false or pretend loyalty. Dual citizenship, which can occur unintentionally when the laws of multiple countries both confer citizenship, is generally allowed. However, dual citizenship is prohibited for those seeking elective public office in the Philippines, who must renounce all foreign citizenships.
