English Project Guidelines


Class XI
Term 1: Assessment of Listening and Speaking (10 Marks)
• Listening:
❖ The students would be judged throughout the year based on their
interaction in the online classes.
❖ In September, the students will be given a listening task which they
would listen to and solve the quiz based on their listening.

• Speaking
❖ The students will prepare a paper presentation (Project File)
concerning Ch- 4 Landscape Of The Soul by Nathalie
Trouveroy (HornBill)
❖ They will pick out any one Indian school of Painting, write a
brief note describing it, illustrate with relevant pictures
supporting your text and prepare a Project File. Please don’t
forget to give credit to your sources of information on the last
page.
❖ Page Limit- 6
❖ The project file should have the following:
➢ Page Title - Title of the project
➢ Acknowledgement
➢ Index pages (including the table of content and page numbers)
➢ Content must be limited to 250-300 words (Inclusive of
pictures)
➢ List of references - bibliography should be arranged in
alphabetical order
❖ The students will then present their project on the given date as part
of their speaking skills.
Term 2: Project & Viva (10 Marks)
• Project
❖ The students will prepare a paper presentation (Project File)
concerning chapter 8, ‘Silk Road’
➢ What is Silk Road? (1) No of pages
➢ History of Silk Road (1) No of pages
➢ Importance (1) No of pages
➢ Goods traded (1) No of pages
➢ Mode of travel (1) No of pages
➢ Facts about Silk Road (1) No of pages
➢ Concerning the chapter: (2)
Present Day
✓ Towns
✓ Locals
✓ Dresses
✓ Climate
✓ Mansarovar & Mt. Kailash
✓ Religious beliefs
✓ Scenic Beauty

❖ The project file will include pictures as well


❖ The project file should have the following:
