Logistics 

is the management of the flow of goods and services between the point of


origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of customers.
Logistics involves the integration of information, transportation, inventory, warehousing,
material handling, andpackaging, and occasionally security. Logistics is a channel of
the supply chain which adds the value of time and place utility. Today the complexity of
production logistics can be modeled, analyzed, visualized and optimized by plant
simulation software.

Shipping has multiple meanings. It can be a physical process


of transporting goods and cargo, by land, air, and sea. It also can describe the
movement of objects by ship.

Land or "ground" shipping can be by train or by truck. In air and sea shipments, ground
transportation is often still required to take the product from its origin to the airport or
seaport and then to its destination. Ground transportation is typically more affordable
than air shipments, but more expensive than shipping by sea.[citation needed]

Shipment of freight by trucks, directly from the shipper to the destination, is known as a
door to door shipment. Vans and trucks make deliveries to sea ports and air ports
where freight is moved in bulk.

Much shipping is done aboard actual ships. An individual nation's fleet and the people
that crew it are referred to its merchant navy or merchant marine. Merchant shipping is
essential to the world economy, carrying 90% of international trade with 50,000
merchant ships worldwide.[1] The term shipping in this context originated from
the shipping trade of wind power ships, and has come to refer to the delivery of cargo
and parcelsof any size above the common mail of letters and postcards

Transportation and timely delivery of goods and services are the main factors
for all types of business. Whether it is transportation of raw materials to the
manufacturers or of finished products to the consumers, logistic plays a major
role in all businesses. Logistic is the most important factor that faciliates all
businesses operate well. Without good logistic, no business can accomplish
success. A good logistic can offer expansion to a business. Logistic is required in
every business. We can not think of any business without logistic.
Generally, logistic is the management of transportation and delivery of
products, product and other resources so as to deliver the products in the
market in time to fulfill the requirements of consumers. Logistics typically
incorporate transportation, warehousing, packaging, material handling,
information and security. Logistic is responsible for the efficient flow of
products, services and information associated to manufacturers and consumers.
Logistic was prevalent in the past but it was considered as a business concept
only in the 1950s. The increasing complication of business and demand for
shipping of product globally was the major cause that gave rise to logistic as a
business concept. Ineffective logistic will affect serious loss for producing
industries.
Shipping also contributes a lot in the world’s economy. Shipping could be a
international business enterprise for transferring and transportation of cargoes
and other materials from one place to another places easily. Each country has
its own shipping policies. Shipping is generally a process of transporting and
delivery of goods by sea, land and air. Usually shipping refers to transportation
of cargoes by sea through ships.
Land or ground shipping is typically done by rails and trucks. Ground shipping is
less costly than air shipping but they’re much expensive than shipping by sea.
Air shipping is the most pricey shipping. They’re fast and can deliver cargoes
within a short period of time. Usually much of the shipping is done by sea.
Shipping by sea is the oldest means of transportation. It is also the most cost
effective mode of transferring merchandise to remote countries.
All kinds of business requires logistic and shipping. Especially for businesses
those are mainly involved in manufacturing products call for special attention
for logistic and shipping. A slight disorder in shipping and logistic will lead to
heavy financial loss for producing industries. An effective logistic andshipping
services system can facilitate a business to operate well and increase its
revenue. They are the key factor of accomplishing business goals.
Logistic and shipping contributes a lot to the world’s economy. A well-
ordered logistic and shipping system will effectively deal with the
transportation process and complement timely delivery of goods and
merchandise to the manufacturing industries as well as to the market to meet
the demands of consumers.
Every business should think about logistic and shipping as most significant for
their development and achievement. With the growth of business,logistic and
shipping also becomes more appropriate for a business. Logistic and shipping
will greatly affect a business and help to attain business goals.
