ERICSSON TROUBLESHOOTING

SOFTWARE UPGRADE WHEN WE DON’T HAVE USB WITH US

1. We will login putty and login into the router username Admin, Pass -------(specific for routing
which we are testing)
2. Now (local) CON59# this will open then we will write --- (local) CON59# ericsson@123
3. Now we will check alarms by simply type ----- show system alarm
4. Now we will check ----- show release
5. It will show sw release
6. Now we will check installed release
7. This is the time when we do not have USB with us so we will use filezilla for it we will login
filezilla

Host ip 192.168.1.1

Username Admin

Pass ------

Port 22

Note: sw upgrade with or without USB the only change is that we have to change location/path of the
file …rest is same

8. Now we will configure LMT(local management port) and check its status whether it is down or
up, we will check --- show system alarm it will show RD card management Ethernet link
down ----- once we will connect lan cable this alarm will clear
9. So now first of all I will take backup so as we have opened router directory in flash we have
ericsson.cfg file we will copy this file to our PC ---- now I will go to md directory and create SW
name directory for SW RELEASE file
10. Now we have 4 files admindata.xml, nmsinfo.xml, 2 sw release files are there now I will copy all
these 4 file to that SW directory
11. Now I will back to CLI command interface and run some commands---- release create upgrade-
package files://md/sw/
12. now this will show successfully created upgrade package with URI file://md/sw
13. now we will check the what sw no given by router to this sw------- show configuration ! grep
release
14. now it will show release upgrade package no ie. 2 ------- release download upgrade- package 2
now it will ask for Y/N we will press Y downloading starts now…. It will take 10 min once
download complete
15. now we have to verify the upgrade package ------ release verify upgrade-package 2 now it will
show successfully verified upgrade package 2
16. now we will save configuration file--------- save configuration after this some PTP SYNC alarm
will be there and will be clear after 10 mins
17. now we may check these show attached-unit 1
18. Replaceable unite id : 1
19. configured au type : ABIS_UNIT
20. connected au type : ABIS_UNIT
21. operational state : ENABLED
22. attached port : 1/1
23. time of connection : ----------
24. time of running : ----------

SW UPGRADE DONE FOR SITE IN THE ROUTER
