 Tools  
•  We  will  demonstrate  how  to  u5lize  RAC  tools  
RAC  Tools  
•  Verify  Enterprise  manager  is  running  
–  .  oraenv  
–  orcl  
–  emctl  status  dbconsole  
•  If  Enterprise  manager  is  not  start  it,  issue  the  following  commands:  
–  $export  ORACLE_UNQNAME=orcl  
–  emctl  start  dbconsole  
RAC  Tools  
•  Open  the  virtual  machine  web  browser  and  enter  in  the  following  url  
–  hNps://hostname:1158/em  
•  Where  host  name  is  the  name  of  the  node  that  started  OEM  
–  Navigate  to  the  Server  tab  
•  Under  Sta5s5cs  Management  select    
•  Automa5c  Workload  Repository  
•  Run  AWR  Report  
•  Run  the  report  by  Snapshot  
•  Select  any  beginning  and  ending  snapshot  
•  Make  sure  the  database  was  not  restarted  during  the  intervals  
•  Generate  Report

•  Review  the  report  findings  
•  Navigate  to  the  OS  sta5s5cs  
•  Review  the  OS  sta5s5cs  
•  Navigate  to  the  SQL  sta5s5cs  
•  Navigate  to  SQL  ordered  by  Elapsed  Time  Global  
–  Review  the  Top  running  SQL  
–  Review  the  Interconnect  Client  Sta5s5cs  
RAC  Tools  
•  Navigate  to  Advisor  Central  under  the  related  links  tab  
•  Select  ADDM  
•  Run  ADDM  to  analyze  current  performance  
•  Select  ‘yes’  to  create  a  snapshot  to  run  ADDM  
•  Review  the  ADDM  findings  if  any.  
•  Review  the  Ac5ons,  Recommenda5ons,  and  Ra5onale  
•  Navigate  to  the  Instance  specific  tab  to  drill  down  on  the  orcl1  instance  
RAC  Tools  
•  Navigate  to  the  database  tab  (far  top  right  corner  of  OEM)  
•  Navigate  to  the  INSTANCES  por5on  on  the  home  page  
–  Half  way  down  the  page  
•  Select  the  orc1  instance  
•  Review  the  Performance  page  of  the  orcl1  instance  
•  Perform  the  same  ac5ons  for  the  orcl2  instance  
–  Note  any  differences
