Introduction:
This document details the step by step procedure in downloading, installing, and creating a new
connection for system provisioned in SAP GUI 7.50 both in Windows and Mac operating system.
Note: It is recommended to install SAP GUI 7.50 or later versions to avoid the connectivity issues with
system.

Prerequisites:
To access the system please open the port number on the institutions network firewall. Please refer to
system access e-mail details for the port number.

SAP GUI for Windows:

Please use the below link to download SAP GUI 7.50 version by using the link below
https://download.ucc.ovgu.de/public/S4HANA/SAP_GUI.zip
Once downloaded, please use the steps below to install SAP GUI 7.50

1. Please extract the file SAP_GUI.ZIP and you should be able to see SAP_GUI.exe file

2. Right click on SAP_GUI.exe file and select

3. Please enter your desktop/laptop credentials and click on YES and the below screen arrears.

4. Once the extraction completes, the below screen appears. Please click on Next

5. Select the tick box for SAP_GUI_750 and click on Next

6. Please allow sometime, so that all the components will be installed.

7. Once installed successfully “The installation of SAP products completed successfully” message
appears. With this you have successfully installed SAP GUI 7.50 in your desktop/laptop.

8. SAP Logon application shortcut will be created on your desktop based on your desktop settings. If
not please use the windows button to search for SAP Logon. Please double click on the icon to
open the application.

Adding system connection to SAP GUI in windows:

Please follow the below steps to add system in SAP GUI
1. Please open the application SAP GUI and the screen looks similar to below image

2. Please click on New Item as shown in the image below and click on connection

3. Please click on Next (Don’t select anything for SAProuter)

4. Once you click on next the application will navigate the screen as shown below where you can
choose Custom Application Server in connection type

5. Please fill the details as provided below in System Connection Parameters

Description: University name or system name (should be specified by user for reference)
System.ID: M29
Instance Number: 29
SAProuter String: /H/cloud.ucc.ovgu.de/S/3299
Application Server: M29z

Step 5: Click on finish and system will appear in connections list.

Please use your provisioned client number and user access details to login to the system.

SAP GUI 7.50 for MAC OS:
SAP GUI 7.50 for MAC OS requires Oracle Java 8 JDK. If your mac is already installed with Java 8 JDK
please proceed to install SAP GUI 7.50 for MAC. Please refer to page 12 for installation guidelines.

Please use the link below to download Oracle Jave 8 JDK and continue from Step 5

or please use the steps below to download and install JDK (Please note Oracle recently have changed
their web interface so the screenshots might look different from website)
Install the JDK file:
1. Please visit http://www.java.com/jdk

2. Click on JDK downloads, which is below the “Where can I get JDK download?”. Please refer to the
screenshot below

 3. Click on DOWNLOAD option under JDK.

4. Select Accept the License Agreement, then download the Mac OS X file. A .dmg file will be downloaded

5. Open the .dmg file.

6. Double-click the box icon.

7. Click Continue.

8. Click Install.

 9. Once you receive the notification of completion as shown in below screenshot. Press Close.

Install SAP GUI 7.50 for MAC

Please use the link below to download SAP GUI for MAC. Once you have downloaded the file opened
the saved JAR file which is downloaded. Depending on your security settings, you may need to select
ctrl-click the file and select 'open.'

1. Open the SAP GUI installation file PlatinGUI750_#-MacOSX.jar.

2. If the following error message occurs, proceed to the next step. If there is no error, please
skip to step 6.

3. Open your MAC system settings.

4. Click on Security and Privacy.

5. Click on the Open Anyway button.

6. The SAP GUI installation wizard should appear. Click on Next.

7. Click on Next.

8. Click on Install. Please allow sometime to complete the installation successfully.

 9. The installation should complete successfully. Click on Close.

Adding system to SAP GUI in MAC:

Once installed please use the below steps to create connection. Please open SAP GUI in MAC by
double clicking on the application.
1. Click New Connection
2. Go to Advanced
3. Enter description (any name for your reference)
4. Tick expert mode
5. Enter /H/cloud.ucc.ovgu.de/S/3299/H/m29z/S/3229 in edit box under expert mode tick box ->
6. Click on save.
