ACTIVITY 5A

1. For you, what does the term “conscience” mean?

For me conscience is the sense or consciousness of the moral goodness or blameworthiness of
one's own conduct, intentions, or character together with a feeling of obligation to do right or be
good.
2. What is the importance of pre-forma factors in conscience formation?
Pre-forma factors are the foundation of every individual building their conscience. The importance
of this is that it is the factor that will help us identify and recognize what is right and wrong.
Without this, we won’t be able to distinguish what is right and wrong because this would be our
basis in life.
3. Go as far back in your years of development, look into the pre-forma factors and trace
your conscience?
When I was young, my parents always taught me to do what is right and avoid what is wrong, I
never thought that there would be consequences if I did something wrong or something that my
parents would not agree on. But as I grew up, I learned to make decisions that would make me a
better person. Every mistake I did, I would always pay for its consequences. And that is where I
start to build my conscience, before I make a decision, I always think of every outcome it would
have and how it would affect me. Now, I feel like I am a new person, I am more on making
decisions in my life.
