INTRODUCTION
This chapter includes the comprehensive background study on the factors that
determine the advantages of using mobile phone to the selected grade 10 students in
CBNHS-Salinas. Mobile phones doesn’t only influence the lives of the people in our
country but also affects every students in our school. It will discuss the current state of

countries. By the end of 2010, mobile phone users have reached five billion worldwide
The function of mobile phone is as a tool for human in their daily work. Students
are one of those who consumed a lot of time in using mobile phone. It brings them a lot
of benefits in any aspects and most of them is purely for educational purposes. Mobile
phones are a popular form of communication in today's society, and in 2010, students of
all ages own cell phones. Mobile phones enable collaboration between learners and
teachers anywhere that's why it's been popular among the students. Teachers have
opportunities, reading online content from e-books or the internet, listening to music,
watching videos and all activities which support the learning of students.

The mobile phone has fundamentally affected our society, accessibility, safety,
security and coordination of social and business activities. It has become part of a culture
of every region in the world. The uses of mobile phones are numerous and this includes
keeping contact with friends and family members, conducting business and others.
Jhasper Managyo (2017) stated that, Filipinos are using their mobile phones not only
to communicate but also as mobile computers as well, according to a recent market study
issued. TNS, a global customized research company, said in its report that Filipino
consumers are not must using cell phones to call and texting messages and photos, but
also as a means to have internet on-the-go, allowing users to be always online. Of the

RESEARCH HYРOTHESIS
• There are a lot of students who uses mobile phone in their studies.
• The usage of mobile phone is very beneficial to students that serves as source of
information to them.
•There are more mobile phone-based information for students when looking for
references.
•Some of the students believe that mobile phones are convenient and easier to use than
books.
• Students who uses mobile phones classified mobile phones as an advantage for

The researchers conducted this research to know or to verify if mobile phone has an
important role in improving their studies beyond its advantages. Using the quantitative
research, our group used statistical method to collect quantitative data from our research
study. In this research method, the researchers deploy a mathematical framework and a
survey that contains five questions. The selected students in all grade levels are randomly
given a survey sheets for us to know the factors of the advantages of mobile phone usage.
The results from the survey showed that all path coefficients were positive and

statistically significant. Above all, the results from the analysis showed that respondents

This chapter presents the results of the surveys done by the researchers on conducting
the study. In order to execute the outcome of the surveys, the researchers applied a pie
graph.
Figure 2
This pie graph shows students’ answers to the given survey which asked them if they
use mobile phone in their studies. 88 percent of 100 students said that they use mobile
phone their studies. While the remaining 12 percent said that they do not use mobile
phones in their studies. In conclusion, it is clear that a large proportion of students use

This pie graph shows students' answers to the given survey which asked them how
often do they use their mobile phones. 56 percent of 100 students said that they always
use their mobile phones. 37 percent answered they sometimes use their mobile phones.
While the remaining 7 percent said that they never use mobile phones. In conclusion, it is
clear that a large proportion of students always use mobile phones for their studies.

This pie graph shows students’ answers to the given survey which asked them in what
way does mobile phone usage become beneficial to them. 52 percent of 100 students said
that mobile phone serves as their source of information, 26 percent of 100 students said
that it helps them in their academic performance, 15 percent of 100 students said that they
use it on their free time as a hobby and the remaining 7 percent said that they use it as an
easy access on their social media account . In conclusion, it is clear that a large

Chapter 3: Summary
Our group conducted a research about the factors that determine the advantages of
questions and surveyed selected students every year level in our school. These questions
are focused in what way mobile phone become beneficial and if it is really beneficial to
students. It turns out that there are 88% students who have a phone and 12% does not
have phone. It states that there are a lot of students who use phones in their lives. And
also, there are a high percentage of students that are using their phones for searching
information purposes. With that, we classify mobile phones as an advantage for a lot of
because of its universal benefits like communication, gaining knowledge, artistic uses,
entertainment, etc. For students, we used mobile phones for searching and printing
purposes, news updates and such. We want to know if mobile phones are really beneficial
to selected students of CBNHS-Salinas. The factor that will determine the advantages of
mobile phone is if there is any improvement in their academic performance. It will show
CONCLUSION
This chapter showcases the outline of the study led by the researchers. This chapter
incorporates the summary of all research discoveries. The following are the perceptions
•In this generation, students who don't use mobile phones for their studies are rare.
•The students use mobile phones in order to communicate easier with their schoolmates
•The school provided rules to limit the students on using their phones when it wasn't
RECOMMENDATION
Majority of the students used mobile phone in their studies, that's why it is
necessary for parents and teachers to maintain a warm and cordial relationship to their
student or child when it comes in guiding and teaching them to be a responsible student.
Using mobile phone for a good source of information should be implemented because it
will add on a lot of knowledge to the students. Students should be taught study skills to
achieved and maintain a good study habits. A good study habits may influence students
academic performance. Most of the students classify mobile phone as an important factor
on improving their studies, that's why promoting proper use of mobile phone is important
in seeking for the factors that will determine the advantages of mobile phone.
