PASSIVE VOICE ( CÂU BỊ ĐỘNG)

Active: S + V + O (Object)
Passive: S + be + V(ed/3) + By (O)
1. Present simple:
S + am/is/are + V(ed/3) + by O
Eg: My father reads newspaper every day.
 Newspaper is read by my father every day.
2. Present continuous:
S + am/is/are + being + V(ed/3) + by O
Eg: My father is reading newspaper now.
 Newspaper is being read by my father now.
3. Past simple:
S + was/ were + V(ed/3) + by O
Eg: My mother cleaned the house yesterday.
 The house was cleaned by my mother
yesterday.
4. Past continuous:
S + was /were + being + V(ed/3) + by O
Eg: The students were doing the test this time
yesterday.
 The test was being done by the students this
time yesterday.
5. Present perfect: S + have/has +V (ed/3)
S + has/ have + been + V(ed/3) + by O
Eg: He has painted this house.
This house has been painted by him
6. Future simple: S + will + V( bare)+ O
S + will + be + V(ed/3) + by O
Eg: Marry will invite Jone to the party tomorrow.
Jone will be invited to the party by Marry
tomorrow.
7. Modal Verbs: can, could, may, might, must,
have to + V(bare-inf)
S + modal verbs + be + V(ed/3) + by O
8. Past perfect: S + had + V(ed/3)
S + had + been + V(ed/3) + By O
Note: Khi S : you, we, they, people, someone,
anyone, …..thì khi chuyển sang câu bị động bỏ BY
Object.
Eg 1: They built Han bridge in 2000
Han bridge was built in 2000
Eg 2: The cat ate the cake in the fridge.
the cake in the fridge was eaten by the cat.
Volunteers have given out food and blankets to
homeless people.
Food and blankets have been given out to
homeless people by volunteers.
Homeless people have been given out food
and blankets by volunteers.
So far, rescue workers have freed ten people
trapped in collapsed buildings.
 So far, Ten people trapped in collapsed
buildings have been freed by rescue workers.
Did the storm destroy the whole village?
The whole village was/were destroyed by the
storm
 Was/Were the whole village destroyed by the
storm?
If the storm hits the area, it will cause a lot of
damage.
If the area is hit by the storm, a lot of damage
will be caused.
They are going to organize a garden party to
raise money for the victims of the flood.
A garden party is going to be organized to
raise money for the victims of the flood.
Note: S + am/ is/ are going to + be + Ved/3 + by
O
S+ am/is/are + going to + V(bare-inf)
PAST PERFECT ( QÚA KHỨ HOÀN THÀNH)
1. Use:
- Diễn tả 1hd xảy ra trước 1 hd khác trong quá khứ.
- Diễn tả 1 hd xảy ra trước 1 thời điểm trong quá khứ.
2. Form:
Aff: S + had + V (ed/3)
Neg: S + had + not + V(ed/3)
Inter: Had + S + V(ed/3)?
Key: before, After, so far, by, when
1. Had left/ erupted
2. Arrived/ had stopped
3. Had spent/ arrived
4. Got/ hadn’t taken
5. Found/ had bought
1. My mother had cooked breakfast when I got up last Sunday
2. I had watched a film before I went to bed last night.
3. The students had cleaned the classroom when I arrived at
school today
4. I had cleaned the classroom before I left school yesterday
5. I had played games by the time I finished my homework
yesterday.
