Chapter I

Executive Summary

Management Aspect

Management is essential when venturing into business as it drives the business to

be organized in achieving its goals and objectives. This aspect discusses all important

matters about the management of the business particularly during the pre-operation and

normal operation period such as such as the planning, organizing, leading, controlling

and staffing. Abante is a sole proprietorship type of business and merchandising in

nature owned by Ms. Leigh Dampog who’ll be handling 7 employees under her,

specifically, a Marketing Supervisor, Social Media Marketer, Accountant, Procurement

Officer, Operations Officer, and two Cashiers. The business allocates a 3-month

preparation period before the business starts at January 2020. These includes the

planning, securing of funds, canvassing and acquisition of materials, securing permits

and licenses, preparing facilities for the start of operations.

Product Aspect

A focus on the product aspect is important to help the business communicate

product advantage to costumers, both in product design and in marketing. Abante will

sell the AbanTaho product through wholesale. It is made up of a soft version of warm

silky tofu, with tapioca balls and replaced arnibal to milktea flavors. Abantaho was

conceptualized to contribute to the revival of the observed declining demand of taho by

taking advantage of the current milktea trend. Aside from the fact that taho is one of the

most versatile food in the country it’s also healthy, delicious, and affordable, it markets
itself with nostalgia making this product timeless and inviting inclusively to any age,

gender, or even any socioeconomic status.

Marketing Aspect

Marketing aspect helps the business satisfy the needs and wants of the target

market by working through strategies and tactics. Thus, marketing aspect is believed to

be the foundation of this business plan as it includes the market segmentation, target

market, market demand, channel of distribution, business location, mode of

transportation, promotion, and pricing. The major finding in this aspect specifically

reveals that 217 individuals or 85 percent of the target market, Senior High School

Students of the University of San Jose – Recoletos, are willing to buy the proposed

product. Through this finding, the owner is able to determine a favorable salability and

demand of Abantaho which can uphold the profitability and viability of the business. The

business will execute their operations at the said university’s canteen and will inflate

their sales as they promote using flyers and their social media accounts.

Legal and Taxation Aspect

Legal and taxation aspect enables the business to be free from all the sanctions

of laws and more significantly to better exercise business ethics while making the

success of the business can be more attainable and the business can better perform its

corporate social responsibility while also being able to meet the policies and standards

set by the government. The company must comply to the needed documents to prove

the legitimacy of the business such as DTI Registration, Mayor's Business Permit, BIR
Registration, Barangay Clearance, Building Contract, Environmental Permit, DOLE

registration, SSS, Pag-ibig, and PhilHealth Applications.

Financial Aspect

A business cannot sustain itself without financial aspect. Financial aspect

encompasses the different fundamental financial elements to run the business. This

includes the sources of funds, estimated project cost, and financial statements. All the

financial decisions are also contained in this aspect. This aspect will not only help the

management gain a clear understanding of the company’s financial standing but most

importantly shows if the business is profitable or not. An owner must have an in depth

understanding and comprehension of the proper allocation of budget to keep the

business wielding in the industry. The fund needed to risk in operating the business is

Php 100, 000.00. The owner initially invested PhP 50, 000.00 and the other Php 50,000

is borrowed from the bank.

Socio-Economic Desirability

An evaluation to the business' potential influence to all the aspects of the

economy and the society at large is necessary to imply for the assurance of its

desirability. The government gains funds to support their projects provided by the taxes

from the business’ income. The business provides employment to the community

through the selling their product while maintaining and pursuing customer relationship

as the company meets their needs and wants. As for the production of Abante’s

product, they acquire suppliers whom they can help in providing the said suppliers a

chance opportunity of building partners and generate income. The business also aids
their creditors with profit it gains from the business. Furthermore, the business benefits

other entities such as their competitors by functioning as a basis of improvement and

financial institutions with the interests it gets from the loans of business.

SWOT Analysis

SWOT analysis is a strategic planning technique used to help the business

identify its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The strengths of the

enterprise include the financial stability through having enough financial resources,

systematically allocated power and communication line, their innovative product itself,

diverse and strong network promotion and distributions, lesser equipment needed for

operation, and enough manpower and amendable employees. In opposed to these

strengths are the weaknesses including the power-centric management, increase in raw

material cost, unforeseeable expenses, and reliance to customer bonding. Business

opportunities includes the Taho being already known and in-stilled to peoples’

memories, the product is economically friendly for all classes, the government’s

influence, people wanting innovation, and the business location is in prosperous and

peaceful state. In oppose to these opportunities are the business threats including

numerous businesses that offers taho in the market, cheap products that can compete

to AbanTaho already exist, and innovative products also already exist in the market.

The business therefore must capitalize on its strengths and opportunities in order to

overcome its weaknesses and threats.
