DR. SHIBA NARAYAN SAHU, PRINCIPAL

Our philosophy of education has always been meeting the needs of the individual student as
they acquire skills and knowledge easily if we can make the surroundings stimulating and
purposeful. In the 21st century, the digital revolution has affected us all. Quite simply, it is
changing everything: a brilliant barrage of information, entertainment, companionship and
education is speedily available. In this era of cut throat competition, it is of paramount impor-
tance to impart an integrated education to the future citizens of the nation for successfully
facing challenges. GUMLA POLYTECHNIC, therefore, lays special emphasis on life skill activities,
providing students an edge over others to be leaders in their respective field of activity.
Through life skills programs, GUMLA POLYTECHNIC aims to develop a cadre of empowered, educated and healthy
adolescents, capable of getting employment as well as making decisions in life.
My simple message to dear students is, never give up. If you can dream it, you can do it. You have the full ability to
achieve any goal.
Best wishes to all for a bright future. Stay safe.

SWA-ADHYAYAN INITIATIVE
Online learning has become a new way of educating oneself, as it is an easily accessible
medium to master over any topic we wish to learn and master. The world that we live in, is
developing more than we could've ever imagined. To keep up with the technology and demand of SwaAdhyayan
the situation, Gumla Polytechnic has come with an innovative idea of online tutorial programme THE ONLINE LEARNING PLATFORM

'Swa-Adhyayan'.
As the college and its campus had been taken over by the State Election Commission to felicitate the Jharkhand
Assembly elections (to store the EVMs and conduct other related works), the classes had to be suspended for about a
month. This was big setback for students. Being concerned about the situation, the college administration decided to
take help of the web and find an effective solution in online tutorials. This proved to be very effective and one of the
best medium to stay connected with the students. This helped them to complete their syllabus and prepare them for
their January semester examinations.
Under ‘Swa-Adhyayan’ initiative, students can access the tutorials through links provided to them via SMS. ‘Swa-
Adhyayan’ tutorials were prepared and upload on a dedicated YouTube channel from where interested students can
access them. A large number of lectures on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Communication Skill and Graphics
prepared by the subject-experts are available and regularly updated.
This ‘Swa-Adhyayan’ initiative has received a great response and was appreciated by the students and guardians.

SMART CLASSROOMS
