LEAD Calendar/Expectations 17-18
LEAD Expectations
MISSION: LEAD is a time for teachers & students to learn the 7 Habits and gain understanding of how to effectively incorporate them into their
daily lives. In addition, it is a time to build community, gain trust, and develop rapport with students. LEAD time is critical in the overall culture of
Willard Middle School’s foundation of WE Learn, WE Lead, WE Succeed.
● During LEAD, students should be engaged in discussion/activities for the entire class period.
● Discussion guides will be provided through the LEAD calendar but teachers are encouraged to share additional life experiences and/or other
activities. The LEAD calendar provides a framework of the topic for the day, but teachers are expected to read, reflect and plan using the
discussion guide.
● LEAD is a vital part of our culture and students should not be held back from the previous class to finish exams, homework,
iAssignments...etc.
● On Mondays, computers should be expected to be out, logged into MasteryConnect and ready to go.
● Teachers should strive to make a personal connection with each LEAD student and be transparent about how the 7 habits affect you
personally.
● Understand that students process through the 7 habits differently. Work individually and as a team to support students that are hesitant to
share/engage during LEAD.
