GUIDELINES:
This comprises of five assignments. Each student can select any two
assignments given below. Each assignment carries 5 marks (2 x 5=10).
Restrict each assignment to 200-250 words.
Each assignment shall include a brief introduction, followed by
observations made, data collected (wherever necessary) and conclusion.
References, if any, may be mentioned at the end of the assignment.
Adding supportive documents such as: illustrations / graphs /
photographs / advertisements from print media may be encouraged.
In case of difficulty in finding resources for the assignment, especially
in Covid-19 prevailing areas and containment zones, etc., teachers can
assist the students for the collection of information by organising
lectures / group discussions / debates / collection of data from web
resources, wherever it is required.
Assignment preparation is aimed only at motivating the students to
enhance their field knowledge, scientific skills and temperament.
Assignments have to be preserved in the college after evaluation.

2. Collect any five flowers belonging to different species from your
locality. Prepare and submit a report having information such as: name
of the plant, sexuality (unisexual / bisexual), type of anther
(monothecous / dithecous) and nature of carpel/s (apocarpous /
syncarpous).
3. Gather information about urine pregnancy test (UPT) kit from web
resources. Prepare and submit a report having information such as:
commercial name, components of the kit and method of testing.
Illustrations can also be added as supportive material.
4. Due to Covid-19, 21st century has witnessed an unprecedented global
pandemic. Collect information from web resources such as: statistical
data on incidence of covid-19 infection for a week of your district / state
/ country. Prepare a graph showing: a) Number of individuals infected
b) Date and identify the trend. Add a note on different vaccines used to
combat Covid-19 in our country.
5. Collect information about the blood groups (ABO) of a family. Prepare
a blood group inheritance chart from parents to offspring by showing
phenotype and probable genotype of each member. Identify the
universal donor and universal recipient if any, by giving appropriate
reasons.
