Extent of Inspections On Small-Bore Piping, Dead Legs, Auxiliary Piping, and Threaded Connections Small Bore Piping (SBP Deadleg Inspection

Small bore piping, dead legs, auxiliary piping, and threaded connections should be inspected according to requirements for primary process piping. Dead legs with chemical mechanical locks should be tracked separately, and risk assessments can help determine which dead legs pose higher risks. Inspections of secondary small bore piping are either the same as for primary piping if class 1 or 2, or optional if class 3 or 4, depending on corrosion potential. Infrared thermography may help locate liquid interfaces in dead legs.
