PLEASE READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING

This contract is between you the Actor, your Parents, and the Director of the School’s Musical
LEGALLY BLONDE

Student expectations, it is expected that you


● will arrive on time and have the best attitude toward all rehearsals; learning lines, blocking and
respect for props/costumes
● will accept the role I am given - as the Director saw something in me that would work for this
part. I will not quit the show because I am not happy with the part I was given.
● will attend any rehearsals scheduled - you will have a schedule ahead of time for planning
● will practice at home to learn lines, dance routines, songs, acting BEFORE the rehearsal
● will not be involved in any other sport or activity that will conflict with the rehearsal schedule.
● will attend all regular rehearsals as scheduled for ALL ACTORS and those that are specific to
your scene and character. If in doubt, double check if you are required at that rehearsal.
● do everything in your power to ensure that rehearsals run smoothly and use the time efficiently
● will commit to the show, and be part of something amazing and promote the fabulous work we
are doing - first time in 3 years to have a musical - something to be proud of!

Parent expectations, it is hoped that you


● will support your child throughout the rehearsal period helping them to maintain a good balance
between homework time and rehearsal time
● will look through the rehearsal schedule ahead of time to ensure no conflicts and try to arrange
other events around this schedule
● may need to provide some clothing/items for your child as part of a costume
● provide some food and healthy snacks for the long rehearsal days & during our Tech days and
Show days.
● will contact the director as soon as you are aware of an unforeseeable conflict.
● Will not film the show during the production, but rather sit back and enjoy seeing talent on stage.

Director’s expectations:
● To provide as much notice as possible to you about changes in the rehearsal schedule
● To contact the parent regarding costume/food requests at an early date
● To provide each student with Professional photos and video of the show
● To provide the students a cast party in which to celebrate the end of the show.

AUDITION PROCESS:
PLEASE READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING

1) Students will be required to attend a meeting where they will receive information about the
audition.
2) They will receive an information packet that they will learn and practice to present to the Director
during the audition. Students are requested to ensure that they add emotion, expression,
physical action and think about the character during the auditions.
3) Actors will be asked to do some improvisational acting to assess quick thinking skills.
4) Students will be asked to show physical actions for different moods, emotions or characters.
5) Students will be given directions to see if they can follow and change voice, facial expressions
or physical stance.
6) Students will be asked to do some cold reading of the script to provide indication of character.
7) Students will perform some choreography
8) Students will sing selected song portions.

Once the Audition process is over, students may receive a CALLBACK. Only those students requested
to attend the CALLBACK will come on that day. Students will then be informed of the roles and
characters on the parts posted list. This day, students will come and collect their scripts to take home for
the day. All actors given a part are expected to collect the scripts to prepare for rehearsals the next day.

Rehearsal Schedule information:


All members of the play will participate and attend every rehearsal, as some people will be working on
dance moves while others will work on songs, and acting. Please bring homework to work on in case
you may encounter downtime. You will need to be ready when called for your parts and know your lines.
Bring a pencil to each rehearsal to make notes on dance choreography, acting notes and blocking.

Please keep in mind that this rehearsal schedule may change to adapt based on the needs of the
rehearsal process. Please check in to Google Classroom to locate up to date notifications on schedule
and rehearsal process. Schedule to arrive soon.

REQUIRED PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS


You will need to have the following items for your own personal use including labels with no sharing.
● Personal hairbrush
● Personal Eye Mascara
● Personal Eye Liner
● Personal makeup brush for lipstick
● Hair supplies such as clips, grips, hair ties, etc.

Please be considerate with your supplies, be neat and tidy and keep your items labeled.

Items you should not share but have personal for your costume: Shoes
Please wait until you have been cast in your role and understand your costume requirements prior to
purchasing any items. Confirm and verify with your director

Please make a copy of this contract for your reference and submit a signed first page to your
Director before Auditions.
