Humans go through various stages growth and development as an embryo and fetus, a
baby, infancy, childhood, adolescence and to adulthood.

The fertilized egg divides again and again to form cells. At

eight weeks the embryo develop into a fetus. The fetus
keeps on developing and becomes a baby.

Before Birth

After about nine months of development inside the uterus, a baby

is born. In human, the baby comes from the mother’s body.
The baby begins to breathe and to take in food.

After Birth

During the infancy, the undergoes rapid increase in

size. Muscles and mental skills develop and
somewhere between 10 to 14 months most infants
begin to walk by themselves.

Infancy

At the age of 18 months childhood begins.

At this stage mental abilities, memory and muscular skill
develop. Childhood continues until the age of 13 years.
At this age understanding, speaking, reading, solving
problems, and behaving are learned. Childhood

Adolescence begins after the 13th year and continues

teenage years. I t begins with puberty when sex
organs develop rapidly. Menstruation begins in
girls and boys begin to produce sperms.
