(IMPROMPTU SPEECH)
1. NO POVERTY
Poverty is a state or condition in which a person or community lacks the financial resources and
essentials for a minimum standard of living. Poverty means that the income level from
employment is so low that basic human needs can't be met.
No poverty under sdg aims to end poverty in all its forms everywhere.
Extreme hunger and malnutrition remain a barrier to sustainable development and creates a
trap from which people cannot easily escape. Hunger and malnutrition mean less productive
individuals, who are more prone to disease and thus often unable to earn more and improve
their livelihoods.
We can help to achieve zero hunger by
Avoiding food waste
Keeping fish population alive
Taking care of water
Keeping the ground water clean
Buying local
Making cities greener
You can make changes in your own life—at home, at work and in the community—by supporting
local farmers or markets and making sustainable food choices, supporting good nutrition for all,
and fighting food waste.
A world with zero hunger can positively impact our economies, health, education, equality, and
social development. It’s a key piece of building a better future for everyone.
Health has an important role in feeling happy, as there are many people who suffer from
diseases, but the health enables them to fight diseases, as a result, they achieve physical fitness
and feel comfortable or enjoy life like any normal person.
Good health is central to human happiness and well-being that contributes significantly to
prosperity and wealth and even economic progress, as healthy populations are more productive,
save more and live longer.
For a healthy life cycle, you need a healthy and balanced diet, good hygiene habits, staying in a
proper shelter and getting enough sleep.
In addition, you will have to participate in physical activities, weight management, and stress
management activities.
Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being at all ages is essential to sustainable
development. Currently, the world is facing a global health crisis unlike any other — COVID-19 is
spreading human suffering, destabilizing the global economy, and upending the lives of billions
of people around the globe.
4. QUALITY EDUCATION
Quality Education
It aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning
opportunities for all.”
Education is the key that will allow many other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be
achieved. When people are able to get quality education they can break from the cycle of
poverty. Education therefore helps to reduce inequalities and to reach gender equality.
What can we do?
•Ask our governments to place education as a priority in both policy and practice.
•Lobby our governments to make firm commitments to provide free primary school education
to all, including vulnerable or marginalized groups.
•Encourage the private sector to invest resources in the development of educational tools and
facilities.
There are key pillars that suprt quality education: and these are the access to quality teachers;
use of quality learning tools and professional development; and the establishment of safe and
supportive quality learning environments.
5. GENDER EQUALITY
Aims to eliminate all forms of discrimination and violence against women in the public and
private spheres and to undertake reforms to give women equal rights to economic resource and
access to ownership of property. Gender equality is an essential human right and the foundation
for a happy, successful, and sustainable society. For me, Gender Equality is worth
advocating because first, all of us in this world need to respect and to
be respected and the reason for that is we are all human and we have our
own rights to be ourselves whatever gender we want to be. They don’t
have the rights to discriminate you and they don’t have the rights to hurt
you just because you are different. They don’t have the rights to judge you
even they say it’s their opinion or it’s just their freedom of speech. Everyone
should treat equally in every aspect to show the respect especially in the
LGBTQ+ community and to become more successful and sustainable
world. I just want to remind to all of you that there’s nothing wrong in
expressing yourself or showing your real identity, just be the real you and be
the best version of yourself.
6. Clean water and Sanitation
Focuses on clean, accessible water for all. The goal aims to address water scarcity, poor water
quality and inadequate sanitation globally. It promotes increased investments in water
management and sanitation, and international cooperation and capacity building in this respect.
Clean water and Sanitation are essential for unlocking economic growth and productivity and
provide significant leverage for existing investments in health and education.
We can achieve this goal by Improving sanitation facilities by providing toilets and latrines that
flush into a sewer or safe enclosure.
We can help to achieve clean water and sanitation by promoting good hygiene habits through
education. Proper hand washing with soap and water can reduce some disease cases.
Access to safe water and adequate sanitation is a basic human right and underpins success in
development areas such as agriculture, energy, disaster resilience, human heath, the
environment, and ultimately economic growth.
Renewable energy solutions are becoming cheaper, more reliable and more efficient every
day. Our current reliance on fossil fuels is unsustainable and harmful to the planet, which is why
we have to change the way we produce and consume energy. Implementing these new energy
solutions as fast as possible is essential to counter climate change, one of the biggest threats to
our own survival.
The most important aspect of clean energy are the environmental benefits as part of a global
energy future. While clean, renewable resources also preserve the world’s natural resources,
they also reduce the risk of environmental disasters
Clean energy can be obtained from a variety of sources which, when put together, could create
solutions for all our energy needs.
There is the sunlight, wind power and waterpower.
It’s about our livelihoods. The growth of new industries means improvement in the standard of
living for many of us. Also, if industries pursue sustainability, this approach will have a positive
effect on the environment. Climate change affects all of us.
Infrastructure provides the basic physical systems and structures essential to the operation of a
society or enterprise.
Industrialisation drives economic growth, creates job opportunities and thereby reduces
income poverty.
Innovation advances the technological capabilities of industrial sectors and prompts the
development of new skills. Inclusive and sustainable industrial development is the primary
source of income generation, allows for rapid and sustained increases in living standards for all
people, and provides the technological solutions needed for environmentally sound
industrialisation.
We can help by
Establishing standards and promote regulations that ensure company projects and initiatives are
sustainably managed. And think about how industry impacts on your life and well-being and use
social media to push for policymakers to prioritize the SDGs.
Reducing inequality is the most important step these countries can take to increase population
well-being. In the developing and emerging economies, both greater equality and
improvements in standards of living are needed for populations to flourish.
In order for nations to flourish, equality and prosperity must be available to everyone -
regardless of gender, race, religious beliefs or economic status. When every individual is self
sufficient, the entire world prospers.
This advocacy helps to achieve overall development plans, reduce future economic,
environmental and social costs, strengthen economic competitiveness and reduce poverty. It is
important because as human beings we exert extreme stress on the planet and its resources.
Every living being relies on the planet for the basic needs of air, food, water and shelter.
For open ocean and deep sea areas, sustainability can be achieved only through increased
international cooperation to protect vulnerable habitats. Establishing comprehensive, effective
and equitably managed systems of government-protected areas should be pursued to conserve
biodiversity and ensure a sustainable future for the fishing industry. We should eliminate plastic
usage as much as possible and organize beach clean-ups. Most importantly, we can spread the
message about how important marine life is and why we need to protect it.
15. LIFE ON LAND
To sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, and
halt biodiversity loss.
Forests cover nearly 31 per cent of our planet’s land area. From the air we breathe, to the water
we drink, to the food we eat–forests sustain us.
we change the ecosystems we are a part of through our presence–but we can make choices that
either affirm diversity or devalue it.
Some things we can do to help include recycling, eating a locally-based diet that is sustainably
sourced, consuming only what we need, and limiting energy usage through efficient heating and
cooling systems. We must also be respectful toward wildlife and only take part in ecotourism
opportunities that are responsibly and ethically run in order to prevent wildlife disturbance.
Peaceful, just and inclusive societies are necessary to achieve the Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs). People everywhere need to be free of fear from all forms of violence and feel safe
as they go about their lives whatever their ethnicity, faith or sexual orientation.
it is important that governments, civil society and communities work together to implement
lasting solutions to reduce violence, deliver justice, combat corruption and ensure inclusive
participation at all times.
Encourage your governments to partner with businesses for the implementation of the SDGs.
