Complete all steps of the troubleshooting procedure.

Step 1: Check for DTCs

Action
1. Check if one or more of the following DTCs are present:
Heater flap actuator defog
520196-7
520228-9
520220-12
Climate Control Panel
520202-7
520206-9

One or more of the DTCs present?

YES NO

Troubleshoot these DTCs first. Go to 2A

Step 2: Check the heater flap actuator defog (L179).


Step 2A - Check the heater flap actuator defog (L179).

Action
1. Use the DAVIE test "[Activate the heater flap actuators and heater fan]" to control the defog heater flap actuator.
2. Control and check the defog air flow (B & C).

Can a change in air flow be felt when controlling the defog actuator?

YES NO

1. Check for a jammed heater flap.


2. Check for a broken or lose linkage.
3. Check the heater flap actuator with DAVIE test, "Activate the heater flap actuators and heater fan".
Correct or replace the defective component.

Go to 3A Go to 4A

Step 3: Check the Climate Control Panel (D446)

Action
1. Use DAVIE to monitor the [Actuator angle, heater flap actuator defog (L179)].
2. Select the defog function (13) or (5) on the Climate Control Panel (D446).

Make sure that only the defog ventilation is ACTIVE (green).

The [Actuator angle, heater flap actuator defog (L179)] changes to 100%?

YES NO

Replace the CCC ECU (D445) according to (replace Replace the Climate Control Panel (D446) according to
Electronic Control Unit, CCC). (replace climate control panel).
Go to 4A Go to 4A

Step 4: Clear the DTCs.

1. Clear the DTCs with DAVIE.
2. If DTCs are still ACTIVE, troubleshoot the ACTIVE DTCs.

Are any DTCs present again?

YES NO

Return to troubleshooting steps.
