- Exercise 14-1
Underline the head of the following noun phrases.

Add a verb phrase to introduce each of these noun phrases, making complete
sentences.

Add a noun phrase to introduce each of the following verb phrases making complete
sentences.

3. The summer vacationers will soon return to college.
4. That gloomy grind always seemed to have a complaint to make.
5. The mountaineer merrily swung the heavy pack on his back to begin the long
hike.
